Andrew Murphy: podcast appearances and interviews

Andrew Ray-Jamie Murphy was born on 18 December 1969 in Melbourne, Victoria. He is an Australian former triple jumper known for winning a bronze medal at the 2001 World Indoor Championships, where he set an Oceanian indoor record of 17.20 metres. His personal best jump is 17.32 metres, achieved at the 1999 World Championships in Seville. This performance ranks him as the second-best Australian triple jumper, behind only Ken Lorraway. Murphy was coached by Keith Connor during his athletic career. He is married to Elizabeth Lindwall, also known as Elizabeth Murphy, and together they have five children named Connor, Finn, Indiana, Takoda, and Siena. Currently, Murphy works at Trinity Grammar School in Summer Hill as the Director of Track and Field. In this role, he has helped many athletes attain national medals, including his eldest son. Murphy is also a coach for triple jumper Desleigh Owusu and sprinter Rohan Browning. Browning made history as the first Australian in 17 years to reach the men's 100 meters semi-finals at the Olympics, and at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, he ran the second fastest 100 meters ever by an Australian. Browning is noted for his academic achievement as well, having scored a high ATAR of 99+ at Trinity Grammar, and is recognized as an all-round student.
