Amy Rigby, born Amelia McMahon on January 27, 1959, is an American singer-songwriter known for her solo recordings and collaborations. After performing with various bands in New York, she launched a solo career, releasing several albums that received enthusiastic critical reviews, although they achieved modest commercial success. Balancing her music career with raising a daughter, Rigby toured extensively during this period. She formed a duo with Wreckless Eric, whom she also married, and together they continued to tour from a base in upstate New York as of November 2011. In addition to her musical pursuits, Rigby authored a memoir titled Girl to City, reflecting her experiences and insights. Her work encompasses not only songwriting and performing but also includes activities such as memoir writing and tending bar.
