Amber Laura Heard is an American actress born on April 22, 1986. She gained recognition with her first leading role in the horror film All the Boys Love Mandy Lane in 2006. She subsequently starred in films such as The Ward in 2010, Drive Angry in 2011, and London Fields in 2018. Heard has also appeared in supporting roles in a variety of other films including Pineapple Express, Never Back Down, The Joneses, The Rum Diary, Paranoia, Machete Kills, 3 Days to Kill, Magic Mike XXL, and The Danish Girl. From 2017 to 2023, she portrayed Mera in the DC Extended Universe, appearing in Justice League, Aquaman, and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Her television work includes series such as The CW's Hidden Palms and the Paramount+ series The Stand. Beyond her acting career, Heard has been involved in activism; in 2016, she became a volunteer with the American Civil Liberties Union as an Artist Ambassador, and she also served as a Human Rights Ambassador for the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.
