About Alyssa Healy

Alyssa Jean Healy, born on March 24, 1990, is an Australian former cricketer who played for and captained the Australian women's national team. She also represented New South Wales in domestic cricket and played for the Sydney Sixers in the Women's Big Bash League. Healy made her international debut in February 2010 and retired in March 2026. As a right-handed batter and wicket-keeper, she gained prominence in late 2006 when she became the first girl to play among boys in a private schools' competition in New South Wales. She progressed through the state age group ranks and debuted for the senior New South Wales team in the 2007-08 season. Initially playing as a specialist batter, she took up wicket-keeping full-time in the 2009-10 season, during which she scored her highest in a single innings with an unbeaten 89 and recorded the most dismissals of any wicket-keeper in the Women's National Cricket League. Healy's international career includes 162 Twenty20 International matches, the second most for any Australian woman, and 126 One Day International matches. She holds the record for the most T20I dismissals overall, with involved in 126 dismissals. Her achievements include being part of Australia's squads for the 2018 Women's World Twenty20, where she was both player of the tournament and the leading run-scorer, and receiving the ICC Women's T20I Cricketer of the Year award in 2018 and 2019. She set a record for the highest individual score in Women's T20I at the time with 148 not out against Sri Lanka in 2019-20. After Meg Lanning's retirement in November 2023, Healy became the captain of the team in all three formats, leading Australia to a clean sweep against England in the 2024-25 Women's Ashes. She retired from professional cricket in 2026.
