Alexey Vermeulen: podcast appearances and interviews

Alexey Vermeulen, born on December 16, 1994, in Memphis, Tennessee, is an American cyclist who competes on the professional mountain bike and gravel circuits. Before turning professional in 2016, he spent three seasons with the BMC Development Team. Currently, he rides for Jukebox Cycling, a multi-discipline team comprising six riders. In 2026, Vermeulen signed a career-long extension with ENVE Composites, continuing a partnership that began in 2021. Vermeulen has gained recognition for his training routines, which include riding with Sir Willie the Weiner, a long-haired miniature dachshund that he carries in a backpack. Willie is owned by Vermeulen's girlfriend, Sophie Linn. In 2022, Vermeulen secured a victory at the Belgian Waffle Ride California on his third attempt, finishing over six minutes ahead of the runner-up Matthew Beers. Most recently, on November 4, 2023, he won the Iceman Cometh race in Traverse City, Michigan, further establishing his reputation on the circuit.
