Alan Sepinwall: podcast appearances and interviews

Alan Sepinwall, born October 19, 1973, is an American television reviewer and writer. He served as the chief TV critic for Rolling Stone from 2018 to 2025. Prior to his role at Rolling Stone, Sepinwall was a columnist at The Star-Ledger in Newark for 14 years, where he began his writing career focusing on television reviews, including coverage of NYPD Blue. His coverage gained recognition and led to significant interviews, including one with series creator David Chase of The Sopranos after the show's conclusion. Sepinwall then worked for the entertainment news website HitFix, where he hosted the podcast Firewall & Iceberg with fellow critic Dan Fienberg until October 2015. He subsequently wrote for Uproxx, hosting the podcast TV Avalanche with critic Brian Grubb. In addition to his critical work, Sepinwall has authored a newsletter called Whats Alan Watching on the Ghost platform.
