Adam Schiff: podcast appearances and interviews

Adam Bennett Schiff is an American lawyer and politician serving as the junior United States senator from California since 2024. He has been a member of the Democratic Party and represented California in the United States House of Representatives from 2001 to 2024. Prior to his congressional service, Schiff was a member of the California State Senate from 1996 to 2000. His early career included roles such as law clerk and assistant United States attorney from 1987 to 1993, and he was an unsuccessful candidate for the California State Assembly in 1994. During his tenure in the House of Representatives, Schiff sat on the Intelligence Committee beginning in 2008, served as the ranking member in 2015, and was the chair from 2019 until 2023 when Republicans retook control. He also served on the House Foreign Affairs Committee. Schiff played a significant role as the lead impeachment manager in the first impeachment trial of President Donald Trump and previously served as joint-lead impeachment manager in two other judicial impeachment trials. In the 2024 elections, he was elected to the Senate, succeeding Laphonza Butler, after defeating fellow Democratic candidates Katie Porter and Barbara Lee in the primary and Republican Steve Garvey in the general election.
