Abigail Thorn: podcast appearances and interviews

Abigail Thorn is an English YouTuber, actress, and playwright born on 24 April 1993. She is known for creating the YouTube channel Philosophy Tube in 2013, initially to offer free philosophy lessons in response to the 2012 increase in university tuition fees in England. Over time, her videos evolved to incorporate theatrical elements such as dramatic studio sets, lighting, costuming, and makeup, contributing to positive critical reception and attracting over one million subscribers. In 2019, Thorn hosted a five-day livestream on Twitch in which she read plays from the Complete Works of Shakespeare to benefit the mental health charity Samaritans, raising over one hundred thousand pounds. As a playwright, she authored and starred in The Prince, a play staged off West End in September and October 2022. The work explores transgender themes and is based on characters from Shakespeare's Henry IV, Part 1, gaining recognition for its innovative approach. In January 2021, Thorn publicly came out as a transgender woman through a video entitled Coming Out As Trans – A Little Public Statement and a more theatrical work, Identity: A Trans Coming Out Story, continuing to engage audiences through her creative endeavors and advocacy.
