A'ja Riyadh Wilson born on August 8, 1996, is an American professional basketball player for the Las Vegas Aces in the Women's National Basketball Association. She played college basketball at the University of South Carolina, where she helped lead the team to its first NCAA women's basketball championship in 2017 and earned the NCAA tournament Most Outstanding Player award. In 2018, Wilson secured her third consecutive SEC Player of the Year award, led South Carolina to a record fourth straight SEC tournament championship, became the all-time leading scorer in South Carolina women's basketball history, and was a consensus first-team All-American for the third straight season. She received all major National Player of the Year awards in that year, recognizing her as the top player in women's college basketball. Wilson was selected first overall in the 2018 WNBA draft by the Las Vegas Aces. She has earned multiple MVP awards within the league, winning in 2020, 2022, 2024, and 2025. In 2022, she helped the Aces claim their first franchise title, a feat she repeated in 2023, during which she also secured the Finals MVP award. On July 7, 2024, she became the Aces' all-time leading scorer during a game against the Dallas Wings. In 2025, Wilson led the team to its third championship while becoming the first WNBA or NBA player to win a scoring title, a championship, Finals MVP, league MVP, and Defensive Player of the Year in a single season. Internationally, she has played for the United States women's national basketball team, winning two Olympic and two World Cup gold medals.
