A'ja Riyadh Wilson, born August 8, 1996, is an American professional basketball player for the Las Vegas Aces in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She is widely regarded as one of the greatest players of her generation and is considered one of the top female basketball players of all time. Wilson played college basketball at the University of South Carolina, where she contributed significantly to the team's first NCAA women's basketball championship in 2017 and was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player. In 2018, she earned her third consecutive SEC Player of the Year award, led South Carolina to a record fourth straight SEC tournament championship, became the all-time leading scorer in South Carolina women's basketball history, and was a consensus first-team All-American for the third year in a row. During her college career, she swept numerous national player of the year awards. Drafted first overall by the Las Vegas Aces in the 2018 WNBA draft, Wilson has won multiple MVP awards, securing the honor in 2020, 2022, 2024, and 2025. She helped lead the Aces to their first franchise championship in 2022 and repeated as champions in 2023, earning Finals MVP honors each time. On July 7, 2024, she became the Aces' all-time leading scorer. In 2025, Wilson achieved a historic feat by winning a scoring title, a championship, Finals MVP, MVP, and Defensive Player of the Year in the same season. Internationally, she has been a member of the United States women's national basketball team, winning two Olympic and two World Cup gold medals.
