About
Wreaths Across America (WAA) is a national nonprofit organization established in 2007 by the Worcester family. Its mission is to remember fallen U.S. veterans, honor those who serve, and teach future generations about the value of freedom. The organization coordinates wreath-laying ceremonies at veterans' cemeteries and memorials across the United States and abroad, with events typically held in mid-December. The initiative began in 1992 when Morrill Worcester donated surplus holiday wreaths to Arlington National Cemetery. Since then, WAA has grown significantly, placing over 3 million wreaths in 2024 alone, supported by thousands of volunteers and sponsorship groups. The organization emphasizes community involvement and educational outreach, sharing stories of service and patriotism. WAA also redistributes funds to other nonprofits and civic groups through its sponsorship program, enhancing its impact on communities nationwide.
