National Public Radio (NPR) is an American public broadcasting organization established in 1970. It was created by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting as an independent nonprofit membership organization. NPR is not a radio station but a production and distribution entity that provides programming to over 860 public radio stations across the United States. NPR produces a wide range of programming, including flagship news shows like *All Things Considered* and *Morning Edition*, which focus on narrative-driven news broadcasting. The organization also offers cultural and educational content covering arts, sports, politics, and science.
