ICESCO, the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, is a non-profit entity established in May 1979 under the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Headquartered in Rabat, Morocco, it aims to enhance cooperation among its 54 Member States in education, science, culture, and communication. The organization is led by Dr. Salim M. Almalik since 2018 and operates in Arabic, French, and English. ICESCO focuses on four main pillars: education, science and technology, culture and heritage, and communication. It provides strategic services such as capacity building in education, promoting scientific research, preserving cultural heritage, and enhancing media cooperation. The organization also produces various intellectual outputs, including publications, educational materials, and organizes conferences and seminars. Through its initiatives, ICESCO supports governments, educational institutions, and the general public, contributing to sustainable development and cultural enrichment in the Islamic world.
