Historian Stephen Ambrose appropriately described World War II as “history’s greatest catastrophe”. But from the smoldering rubble of that war there emerged amazing stories of ordinary men and women doing extraordinary deeds of valor, sacrifice, and heroism in the midst of extraordinary times. Today, over 80 years later, there are still such stories being unearthed, stories that need to be told. Such is the purpose of Ron Eckberg’s Where Heroes Walked podcast. The "proud son of a World War II combat Veteran", Ron Eckberg is committed to passing along the stories of World War II, and the stories within the stories. You will hear stories that you will most likely not have heard before, stories that will inspire, educate, and hopefully challenge you to help in this effort to keep alive the memory of what those we call the Greatest Generation did to keep the world from succumbing to the madness of those who would seek to rule it. On Episode 12 of Where Heroes Walked , the Podcast, I want to tell you a very ordinary story about two very ordinary men from two very ordinary places, men who shared an extraordinary experience in a land far away and in a terrible season known as World War II. Surprised Again: Japan's Attack on America's Homeland
Apr 24, 202612 minS0

For every well-known story from World War II there are thousands of stories few people ever hear. Today on the Where Heroes Walked Podcast we will explore Japan's surprising attempt at yet another surprise attack on the United States...and the tragic consequences it would create.

Before December 7, 1941 few Americans knew what Pearl Harbor was or where it was. After December 7th every American knew. What most Americans don't know, however, is that the Japanese commander who designed and commanded the attack was not all that keen about starting a war with the United States. Episode 10 of the Where Heroes Walked podcast tells this unknown part of the Pearl Harbor story.

When we think of women and their role in World War II what most often comes to mind is “Rosie the Riveter”, symbolizing the women who went to work in the factories building the planes and ships and ammunition needed to wage war. There were more, however, those who served and sacrificed and even died for the cause of freedom. Episode 9 of the Ordinary Heroes Podcast tells the story of some of those women, some of the “Others”.

A small-town teenager leaves high school to join the Marines and soon finds himself in the brutal island-hopping campaign of the Pacific during World War II. He returns home physically unharmed. The scars of war, however, run much deeper.

In this episode of the Ordinary Heroes Podcast we hear the story of one of the million of soldiers who lived through the war then fought another to return to a normal life after coming home.

Join Ron Eckberg, host of the ORDINARY HEROES PODCAST, in episode 8, the ORDINARY HEROES story of Gordon Larsen.

What is the difference between Founder Solo and Founder Pro?
Founder Solo gives you 50 AI pitches per month using the credit model (Standard pitches cost 1 credit, Enriched pitches cost 2). Founder Pro raises that to 200 credits per month and adds full Booking Probability access, unlimited Magic Match, Apollo enrichment credits, and data export capabilities. Both plans use the same credit system, so you can stretch your monthly budget further by using Standard-mode drafting.
How do agency tiers work?
Agency tiers have no base fee. You pay per managed client and per talent profile. Agency Standard is $199 per client per month; Agency Pro is $399 per client per month. Both add $39 per talent profile per month. Your own team's user seats are always free.
What is a talent profile?
A talent profile represents one person (founder, executive, or spokesperson) you are booking onto podcasts. It includes their bio, topics, headshots, and outreach history. Team plans include 5 profiles; agency plans are pay-as-you-go.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes, at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades apply at the end of the current billing period. Contact support if you need help migrating between plan families.
