Why Women Who’ve Done the Work Still Pull Back at the Midlife Threshold with Meghan
What if the hardest part of growth isn’t learning what you don’t know… but accessing what you already know when it matters most? ✨ Episode Summary In this episode of Voices of Impact , I’m excited to welcome Meghan Raza , a neuro-performance coach and workplace psychological health and safety advisor, for a powerful conversation about patterns, pressure, leadership, and the gap between awareness and actual change. This episode is for you if: • You’ve done significant inner work but still notice old patterns under pressure • You understand your patterns intellectually but struggle to change them consistently • You’re navigating a new level of leadership, visibility, or responsibility • You’re a woman approaching a major personal or professional threshold • You lead a team and want to understand how pressure shapes organizational behavior • You want to move beyond insight into embodied, sustainable change • You’re curious about the connection between neuroscience, performance, leadership, and behavior Key Takeaways Awareness is not the same as access. You can understand exactly why you respond a certain way and still find yourself repeating the behavior. Sustainable change requires being able to access a different response when the pattern is activated. Pressure reveals what is already operating underneath. When the stakes rise, we often fall back on familiar responses. Pressure can therefore become a window into the patterns that still need attention—not necessarily the source of those patterns. Doing the work doesn’t mean you’re finished evolving. Personal growth doesn’t eliminate every old pattern. New levels of responsibility, visibility, and leadership can reveal parts of ourselves that haven’t yet been integrated at that level. Your next threshold can activate your old identity. Sometimes the challenge isn’t that you don’t know what your next level requires. It’s that your nervous system, habits, and identity are still familiar with the version of you that came before it. Organizations have patterns too. Teams can consciously define values around trust, collaboration, psychological safety, and healthy leadership. But pressure can reveal whether those values are truly embodied or simply documented. Change has to move beyond insight. Knowing better is valuable. But transformation happens when that knowing becomes available in real moments—especially the difficult ones.
