The Word Became Fresh
Episode 115 – 08/24/26 – The Cross: God's Instrument of Salvation...and Condemnation? (Part 2) – John 12:27–36
Welcome to The Word Became Fresh , the Bible-teaching ministry of Pastor Sebastian Petz from The WORD Church LA . Last time, we began John 12:27–36 as Jesus' soul became deeply troubled in anticipation of the cross. Yet instead of shrinking back, He embraced the Father's will, knowing His death would glorify God, judge the world, defeat its ruler, and accomplish the very purpose for which He had come. In this episode, we'll conclude John 12:27–36 as Jesus explains what it means to be "lifted up" to draw all people to Himself, answers the crowd's confusion about the Messiah, and urgently calls them to believe in the light before darkness overtakes them. Thanks for listening to The Word Became Fresh , the Bible-teaching ministry of Pastor Sebastian Petz from The WORD Church LA . Today we saw that Jesus' death on the cross would draw people from every nation to Himself, while His urgent call to believe revealed that the opportunity to respond would not last forever. Next time, we'll begin John 12:37–50 , where John concludes Jesus' public ministry. We'll examine Israel's widespread unbelief despite His many signs, Isaiah's explanation for that rejection, and Jesus' final public appeal concerning faith, judgment, and the authority of His Word. Until then, stay rooted in the Word, and listen for the Shepherd's voice.
