Lucas and Luna sit down in a wood-panelled value-investing library to dissect the gap between intrinsic value and market price. Each episode takes a real company — from Berkshire Hathaway to a small-cap overlooked by Wall Street — and walks through a Graham-and-Dodd framework: calculating owner earnings, estimating margin of safety, and weighing competitive moats against macroeconomic headwinds. Lucas brings the balance-sheet rigor of a former analyst, while Luna challenges the assumptions, stress-tests the discount rates, and pushes for the human factors — management incentives, industry cycles — that numbers alone miss. This is not a stock-picking hotline. It is a methodical, numbers-first conversation about how to think about price versus value in an era of low interest rates, inflation surprises, and algorithmic trading. The listener is someone who already knows what P/E and ROIC mean but wants to hear two sharp minds argue over terminal growth rates, float valuation, and the psych

The Silent Killer of Value Investing in 2026
Oct 3, 202610 minS5
Value investors are hunting for cheap stocks, but a specific structural shift is making traditional metrics useless. With the S&P 500 hovering near 7,723 and the Fed Funds rate sitting at 3.75 percent, the old playbook for finding intrinsic value is broken. We drill into why accounting rules that ignore digital asset depreciation are creating massive hidden liabilities on balance sheets, turning 'cheap' companies into value traps. Lucas and Luna explore how this regulatory lag distorts ROIC calculations and what disciplined investors must adjust their models to see the real cost of doing business today. #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #ValueInvesting #WarrenBuffett #BerkshireHathaway #AccountingRules #IntrinsicValue #ROIC #CapitalAllocation #DigitalAssets #Depreciation #BalanceSheet #IntangibleAssets #MarketBreadth #SAndP500 #FedRates #LongTermStocks #FinancialAnalysis Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo

Why Buffett's Cash Pile Is Actually Good News
Oct 2, 20267 minS5
Warren Buffett has never held more cash at Berkshire Hathaway, yet the market’s reaction remains confused. We dig into why this isn’t a sign of fear but a structural shift in how value investors deploy capital when quality assets command such high prices. By October 2026, with the S&P 500 near 7,723 and interest rates holding steady around three point seven five percent, traditional cheap stocks have become scarce commodities. Lucas and Luna explore how this cash hoard changes the game for long-term investors who still believe in Graham-style value. #BerkshireHathaway #WarrenBuffett #ValueInvesting #CashHoarding #MarketValuation #SAndP500 #InterestRates #CapitalAllocation #IntrinsicValue #BenjaminGraham #QualityOverCheap #CorporateTreasury #DividendYield #StockBuybacks #MergersAndAcquisitions #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #FinanceShow Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo

How Value Investors Missed The Quality Wave
Oct 1, 20268 minS5
We look at why traditional value metrics are failing in a high-rate environment, using recent shifts in the S&P 500 and specific company examples to show how quality pricing power is redefining what cheap really means. With the ten-year Treasury holding steady near four percent, we explore whether the old Graham rules still apply or if investors need a new framework for identifying true intrinsic value. #ValueInvesting #QualityFactor #PricingPower #IntrinsicValue #InterestRates #TenYearTreasury #SAndP500 #GrahamDodd #BerkshireHathaway #LucasAndLuna #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #FinanceNews #MarketAnalysis #InvestmentStrategy #EconomicOutlook #CorporateMoats #StockPicking Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo

Why Cheap Stocks Are Trapping Value Investors
Sep 30, 202611 minS5
Value investing is facing a structural crisis as the line between genuine opportunity and a value trap blurs. With the S&P 500 down nearly one percent over the last five days and small caps underperforming significantly, investors are mistaking low multiples for safety. We examine why traditional metrics like price-to-earnings ratios fail in today's high-interest-rate environment. The Fed's steady funds rate near three point six percent keeps discount rates elevated, punishing stocks that rely on distant future cash flows. Lucas and Luna dissect specific sectors where cheap looks expensive, using concrete examples from energy and finance to show how quality pricing power is becoming the only true moat. This episode offers a new framework for identifying when a bargain is actually a liability. #ValueInvesting #BerkshireHathaway #WarrenBuffett #ValueTraps #InterestRates #FedPolicy #StockMarketAnalysis #GrahamAndDodd #LongTermInvesting #FinancialLiteracy #EconomicOutlook #S&P500 #SmallCapStocks #DividendYield #CashFlowAnalysis #RiskManagement #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo

The Hidden Cost of Value Investing in a High Rate World
Sep 29, 20269 minS5
In this episode of The Value Investing Podcast, Lucas and Luna examine how the persistent interest rate environment is quietly eroding the apparent value of dividend-paying stocks. With the Fed Funds effective rate holding at 3.63 percent and market volatility pressing on small-cap indices like the Russell 2000, we explore why traditional metrics like price-to-earnings ratios are failing to capture the true cost of capital. Using concrete examples from energy and financial sectors, we discuss how high borrowing costs turn cheap-looking stocks into expensive liabilities, forcing investors to rethink what 'value' actually means in September 2026. #ValueInvesting #InterestRates #DividendGrowth #BerkshireHathaway #JPMorgan #ExxonMobil #CostOfCapital #FedFundsRate #PriceToEarnings #SmallCapRisk #Russell2000 #S&P500 #CorporateDebt #FinancialAnalysis #LongTermWealth #MarketVolatility #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
