  Xbox Has Lost the Plot

  Sep 23, 202639 min

The gaming news cycle has been absolutely insane, so it's time to talk about it. This week, Brad dives into some of the biggest stories happening across gaming, from Wolverine and the growing divide between reviewers and players to Destiny, Nintendo, Kojima, and some major changes happening at Xbox. What starts as a simple gaming news roundup may or may not turn into a full-blown rant about the current state of the industry. Welcome back to The Unknown Podcast.

  Sep 22, 202627 min

Well… I owe Nintendo an apology. After years of talking trash, something finally changed my mind. In this episode, I catch you guys up on what I’ve been playing, some exciting things happening behind the scenes with the podcast, and why my relationship with Nintendo has taken a pretty unexpected turn. Plus, a little nostalgia, life as a gaming dad, and a story that somehow brought gaming full circle for me. Let’s talk about it.

The Games We Go Home To

  Sep 5, 202637 minS1

With gaming moving faster than ever, sometimes you just need to go back to something familiar. In this episode, Brad talks about the games that have become his comfort games—the ones he can return to again and again no matter how much time has passed. Along the way, he looks at why certain games stick with us, how our connection to them can change as life changes, and why sometimes a video game becomes more than just a game. Plus, some thoughts on what he's playing now, what's coming next, and a few inevitable gaming tangents along the way.

Mortal Shell 2: Great Game, Flawed Shell

  Aug 28, 202637 minS1

After nearly a month away, I’m back—and this time we’re just talking games. After putting around 16 hours into Mortal Shell 2, I’m finally ready to give it a proper review. We’re talking combat, difficulty, shells, bosses, the grind, what the sequel does better than the original, and why—despite all my complaints—I’m still giving it an 8.5/10. Then we jump into some gaming news, including my surprisingly lukewarm feelings about the GTA VI hype, why studios like Rockstar should be held to a higher standard, and some love for CD Projekt Red and the incredible turnaround of Cyberpunk 2077. No deep life discussions this week. No nostalgia trip. Just games, opinions, and probably more Mortal Shell 2 complaining than an 8.5/10 game deserves.

  The Mexican Viking

  Aug 4, 202631 minS1

This week, I revisit Mass Effect: Andromeda and talk about why some games deserve a second chance. What starts as a discussion about overlooked sci-fi games becomes a tribute to my best friend, the "Mexican Viking," and a reminder that gaming is about more than graphics or review scores—it's about the memories, friendships, and moments that stay with us long after we put the controller down.
