Episode 14 - Pete Golding's Philosophy on Development of Players
We listen to Pete Golding answer a very interesting question about an old perception of Mississippi high school players. Good coaches don't lower their expectations because of a player's starting point when it comes to development. Throughout Coach Golding's career he has emphasized teaching fundamentals, giving players limited roles early, and expanding those roles as they demonstrate mastery. Even the best players don't always absorb the entire scheme on day one. We also listen to John David Baker talk about how he doesn't fit players into his scheme or plan, he plans and schemes around his players' abilities.
