Episode #38
Forgiven People Forgive
Matthew 18:21-35 Our brother Will Dicus brings us a very important message on forgiveness from the very mouth of Jesus. Our Lord commanded us not to only forgive once, or twice, or even ten times, but to not set a limit on how many times we are to extend forgiveness to someone. This may seem like an impossible command sometimes given what certain people may put us through, but all of that pales in comparison when we think about the debt that Christ for which died to forgive us. If Jesus can go to the cross with joy set before Him then we certainly can extend forgiveness to anyone and everyone that wrongs us in this life. Not only are we to forgive someone for their sake, but we are to find forgiveness in our hearts for our own sake. Bitterness, resentment, and unforgiveness are like a poison that we drink expecting it to hurt the other person. As we have broken through into the latter part of the year, it seems as though the Lord has still been leading Pastors Cory and Troy on a path speaking directly to the church and our Christian walk . Starting at the beginning of the year, Pastor Troy began to preach a series on vision and the church, and Pastor Cory has taken a break from Ephesians to bring messages that are very timely for us as a church. There have been powerful messages that we hope you will go back and listen to. These men of God bring us a word from the Lord every week and we pray that you are blessed from this word as well during this season of our lives. The calling for every Christian is to take the gospel to the ends of the earth. Well, where does the earth begin and where does it end? For us at Bald Mountain Baptist Church, the world begins in the Shumont Community on top of a little peak in Buncombe County, NC. Our prayer is that through this platform we might do our part in reaching the ends of the earth with the gospel! Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof. Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains. Isaiah 42:10-11 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Troy Westmoreland and Cory Martinez are the co-pastors of Bald Mountain Baptist Church. They alternate on a semi-regular basis, and our prayer is that their insights from the Word of God may richly bless all those who stop by our neck of the woods!
