The Joe McNeil Podcast is about golf, sports, business, leadership, family, and the stories everyone is talking about. Joe McNeil and his son Jehu bring two generations and two perspectives to unscripted conversations about what’s happening in golf and sports, along with lessons they’ve learned from business, competition, leadership, and life. Some weeks, they’re breaking down the biggest stories in golf and sports. Other weeks, they’re sitting down with athletes, entrepreneurs, coaches, and interesting people with stories worth hearing. And sometimes, they’re just arguing about something neither of them expected to talk about. Expect strong opinions, honest conversations, plenty of laughs, and the occasional disagreement. If you like golf, sports, business, leadership, and conversations that don’t feel scripted, you’re in the right place.

Oct 2, 20261h 4m
Is the NFL taking the physicality out of football? In Episode 36 of The Joe McNeil Podcast, Jehu and I get into the controversy surrounding the hit on Oregon QB Dante Moore, Chris Simms' reaction to the hit, and the growing debate over how much protection quarterbacks should receive. We also talk about football, toughness and masculinity, golf spectator etiquette, the latest leadership changes at Good Good, and then get into YOUR comments from our 330 yards vs. 200 yards debate. Apparently when we said 330 yards IN THE ROUGH, some of you heard 330 yards into somebody's swimming pool. Plus, Scott Fawcett, creator of DECADE Golf, and Chase Cooper, Director of Instruction at KickingBird Golf, are coming on the podcast soon. If you enjoy the show, LIKE, SUBSCRIBE and jump into the comments. Agree or disagree, we want to hear it. Episode 35: Good Good’s Big Move, Bryson’s $100K Challenge & Golf Myths
Sep 25, 202638 min
Good Good is taking on 50 states in 50 days , Bryson DeChambeau is hosting a $100,000 backyard golf competition , and it’s Presidents Cup week. Joe and Jehu break down what Good Good is doing next, react to the first two rounds of Bryson’s new competition, and discuss whether the Presidents Cup is actually compelling. Then we get into the comments, including the amateur-status argument that refuses to die and a viral AI video that somehow convinced thousands of people it was real. Finally, we tackle some of the biggest myths in golf: • Does your left arm really need to stay straight? • Do “low-spin” shafts actually lower spin? • Do you need to hit it straight to play great golf? • How wide is a Tour player’s actual dispersion? • More birdies or fewer bogeys? • Is “keep your head down” terrible advice? • Does swinging easier actually make you hit it straighter? • Is “drive for show, putt for dough” actually true? • How much difference does new equipment really make? What’s the worst golf advice you’ve ever heard? Episode 34: LIV Golf Is Bankrupt. But Was the PGA Tour Ever Morally Superior?
Sep 18, 202644 min
LIV Golf filed for Chapter 11 after billions in Saudi backing. But the financial collapse raises another question: Was the PGA Tour ever in a position to claim the moral high ground? In Episode 34 of The Joe McNeil Podcast, Joe and Jehu dig into LIV Golf, the PGA Tour, Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, sponsor relationships, the battle over professional golf, and the double standards that can appear when money and morality collide. We also get into the LIV timeline, the PGA Tour's suspension of Wesley Bryan, why LIV Duels may have exposed a real opportunity for YouTube golf, and whether there is still room for a legitimate competitor to the PGA Tour. Then we jump back into last week's amateur golf debate and some of the best comments from Instagram. Should former PGA Tour and Korn Ferry Tour players be allowed to regain amateur status and compete in elite amateur championships? We don't expect everyone to agree. That's the point. Episode 33: The Death of Amateur Sports: College Football, NIL & Pro Golfers Going Back to Amateur
Sep 11, 202648 min
What does the word "amateur" even mean anymore? A golfer who earned more than $2 million as a professional just won the U.S. Senior Amateur. Colt Knost, after 199 PGA Tour starts and more than $4.5 million in career earnings, wants his amateur status back. And golf may only be the beginning. We get into: • Former professional golfers returning to amateur competition • Colt Knost seeking amateur status again • Former NFL players trying to return to college football • NIL money and whether college athletes are really amateurs anymore • Judges getting involved in NCAA eligibility decisions • Lane Kiffin, LSU and the changing landscape of college football • The controversial ending of the Michigan game • Whether college sports have simply become professional sports • Your comments and reactions from our Good Good episodes We also take a moment to remember the victims, first responders and families affected by September 11, 2001, on the 25th anniversary of 9/11. So we want to hear from you: What SHOULD qualify someone as an amateur athlete? And once you've competed professionally, should you ever be allowed to become an amateur again? Episode 32: The Callaway Conspiracy? Good Good Fallout Gets Even Crazier
Sep 4, 202641 min
The Good Good and Callaway controversy just got even crazier. We recorded Episode 32 of The Joe McNeil Podcast earlier today, and literally hours after we finished, the story changed again. Matt Kendrick is reportedly out as CEO of Good Good, Joe Flannery is reportedly out as president, and Nahid Giga is stepping in as interim CEO. And that's only the beginning. Since the controversial Good Good x Callaway ad dropped, Callaway ended its relationship with Good Good, retailers pulled merchandise, Good Good stepped away from its PGA Tour title sponsorship, the 2026 Big Break x Good Good season was shelved, employees lost their jobs, Garrett Clark responded, and Hunter Mahan weighed in on whether the backlash went too far. Then we followed the money. Callaway authorized a $200 million stock repurchase program earlier this year. Through June 30, the company reported approximately $84 million in share repurchases, with roughly $120 million of authorization remaining. Does that prove some giant conspiracy? No. We have zero evidence of that. But the numbers are real, the timing is interesting, and we're putting on the tinfoil hats. Jehu and I also get into the impact YouTube golf has had on the traditional game, the people affected by the cancellation of Big Break, and we respond to your comments from Episode 31. Do you offer a free trial?
Every paid plan includes a 15-day free trial. Your card is saved at signup but you will not be charged until day 16. Cancel any time from your dashboard.
What happens if I cancel?
You keep access until the end of your current billing period. No charges after that. Your data is retained for 30 days in case you reactivate.
