#EP116 - The Business You Start Isn’t The Business You’re Meant To Build As A Mum Entrepreneur
Sep 9, 20266 minS2
What if the business you started isn’t the business you’re actually meant to build? We’re often sold the idea that successful entrepreneurs simply had the right idea from the beginning. But the reality is much messier — and much more exciting. As a mum entrepreneur, your business can evolve as you learn more about your audience, discover what you’re good at, and realise that you’ve changed too. In this episode, I share three real examples — Sara Blakely, Emily Weiss and Arianna Huffington and how their businesses evolved from where they started. I also share my own journey with The Business Mum Compass, from starting a podcast to refining my audience and positioning around mums in business and mum entrepreneurs, creating live podcast events, building a community and opening my own podcast studio. Because you don’t need the whole map. You need a compass. In this episode, you’ll learn: Why your first business idea doesn’t have to be your final one How your audience, experience and life can reveal what your business needs to become Why changing your definition of success doesn’t mean you’ve failed — it may be bringing you closer to your purpose Your business is allowed to evolve. So are you. + If you like this episode, please give the show a review. #EP115 - The Business You Start Is Not the Business You’re Meant to Build As A Mum Entrepreneur
Sep 7, 202612 minS2
Mum in business, mum entrepreneur? What if the business you started isn’t the business you’re actually meant to build? We’ve been sold this very neat version of entrepreneurship: you have an idea → you launch → you succeed. But real businesses rarely work that way. As a mum entrepreneur, your business can evolve as you learn what your audience wants, discover what you’re good at, and — perhaps most importantly — realise that you have changed too. In this episode, we’re talking about why your first business idea doesn’t have to be your final one, and why changing your niche, offer, business model or definition of success isn’t necessarily failure. In this episode, you’ll learn: Why you don’t find your perfect business idea — you discover it by building The 3 signs it may be time to evolve your business and stop forcing your original plan How to recognise when your business no longer fits the life, priorities and purpose of the woman you’re becoming Because you’re allowed to change your mind. You’re allowed to outgrow the business you started. The goal isn’t to stay loyal to the first version of your dream. The goal is to build a business that fits the woman you’re becoming. + If you like this episode, please give the show a review. What is the difference between Founder Solo and Founder Pro?
Founder Solo gives you 50 AI pitches per month using the credit model (Standard pitches cost 1 credit, Enriched pitches cost 2). Founder Pro raises that to 200 credits per month and adds full Booking Probability access, unlimited Magic Match, Apollo enrichment credits, and data export capabilities. What is a talent profile?
A talent profile represents one person (founder, executive, or spokesperson) you are booking onto podcasts. It includes their bio, topics, headshots, and outreach history. Team plans include 5 profiles; agency plans are pay-as-you-go.
