Episode #29
Pastors Get Brutally Honest About Church Hurt | The Analog Gospel | Episode 29
Everybody’s talking about church hurt. Almost nobody’s talking about who’s actually doing it. The conversation runs one direction: institutions wound individuals. Pastors abuse, systems fail, people get crushed. All of that happens, and it’s serious, and we’re not minimizing it. But here’s what doesn’t get said. Most church hurt isn’t coming from a platform. It’s coming from a pew. We gossip, offend, and hurt each other because we are all still… people. And ask any pastor (and their children) how much the people they lead have hurt them and you’d be shocked… but you’ll never see that on a documentary. This episode is not a defense of bad leaders. It’s a challenge to the people who make up the body of Christ. Pastor Jason Parrish is joined by Pastor Erica Parrish, Pastor Joshua Bingle, and John Rowa to talk about church hurt like you've never heard it before. We get into: what separates formation from offense, why correction always stings and why that isn’t evidence of anything nefarious, what to actually do when you’ve been hurt, and how to stop being the person who does the hurting.
