The Danger of Romanticising “Staying”:Don't Leave Just Because It's Hard — Don't Stay Just Because It's Familiar We often hear, “Don’t give up,” “Keep fighting,” and “Stay committed,” but what happens when we romanticise staying? Sometimes staying through difficulty is a sign of strength, but other times, we remain in situations because they are familiar, not because they are still good for us. We can confuse endurance with purpose and loyalty with fear of change. At the same time, leaving every time things become uncomfortable can also rob us of growth, discipline and the lessons that difficult seasons are meant to teach us.
