Lucas and Luna examine the mechanics of employer-sponsored 401k plans, from matching formulas and vesting schedules to target-date funds and Roth options. Each episode dissects a single aspect of retirement saving: how compounding works on a 30-year timeline, the tax implications of pre-tax vs. Roth contributions, and the behavioral pitfalls that lead to early withdrawals. Lucas explains the regulatory landscape—ERISA fiduciary rules, nondiscrimination testing, and automatic enrollment trends—while Luna presses for real-world examples: how a 26-year-old earning $55,000 should allocate her first 401k, or what happens to a plan when a startup gets acquired. The show is built for employees who want to maximize their employer match and understand their plan's fine print, as well as HR professionals and financial advisors who need to stay current on plan design and participant outcomes. How Direct Indexing Is Rewriting Your 401k Tax Strategy
Sep 11, 20269 minS4
For decades, the standard 401k offered mutual funds and target-date funds as the primary investment vehicle. But a quiet structural shift is underway in employer-sponsored plans: direct indexing. This episode explores how some large employers are beginning to offer this advanced strategy, allowing participants to own individual stocks rather than pooled shares. We break down the mechanics of tax-loss harvesting within a retirement account, the specific fee structures that make it viable only for balances over one hundred thousand dollars, and why fiduciary liability concerns have kept most plan sponsors on the sidelines until now. With market volatility high in late September two thousand twenty-six, we examine whether this tool is a genuine alpha generator or just another layer of complexity for the average saver. #DirectIndexing #401kStrategy #TaxLossHarvesting #RetirementPlanning #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #WealthManagement #EmployeeBenefits #PersonalFinance #InvestmentOptions #FiduciaryDuty #PortfolioConstruction #HighNetWorth #FinancialLiteracy #MarketVolatility #CorporatePensions #LucasAndLuna #FexingoNetwork Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
How Automatic Rebalancing Protects Your 401k Returns
Sep 10, 20269 minS4
Most employees set their 401k contributions and forget them, assuming the default target-date fund will handle everything. But in a volatile market like September 2026, drift can silently degrade returns without anyone noticing. This episode dissects how automatic rebalancing works inside major employer plans, using data from Vanguard’s latest participant study to show why staying invested in your original asset allocation matters more than chasing recent winners. Lucas breaks down the mechanics of glide paths and drift penalties, while Luna explores the behavioral psychology behind why we hate selling winners even when it’s mathematically necessary. You will learn one specific rule for checking if your plan offers this feature and how to verify it takes less than two minutes. #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #RetirementPlanning #401kStrategy #AssetAllocation #AutomaticRebalancing #TargetDateFunds #PortfolioDrift #InvestmentFees #VanguardData #BehavioralFinance #LongTermWealth #EmployerBenefits #FinancialLiteracy #MarketVolatility #PassiveInvesting #RiskManagement #LucasAndLuna Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
The catch-up contribution window for older workers opens annually, but many employees miss the deadline or confuse it with standard limits. In this episode, Lucas and Luna break down the specific mechanics of the one-thousand-five-hundred-dollar catch-up provision, how it interacts with traditional versus Roth accounts, and why waiting until December is a common trap that costs retirees thousands in tax-deferred growth. We also examine how recent regulatory changes have expanded eligibility to include newer retirement plan designs, making this critical strategy accessible to more workers than ever before. #401kCatchUp #RetirementPlanning #TaxAdvantagedSavings #EmployeeBenefits #RothConversion #SECUREAct2019 #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #PersonalFinanceTips #WealthManagement #CompoundInterest #LateStartSaving #RetirementIncome #FinancialLiteracy #EmployerMatch #TaxStrategy #LongTermCareers #InvestmentGrowth Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo

What is the difference between Founder Solo and Founder Pro?
