Common Parenting Mistakes (Part 2)
Parenting isn't about being perfect—it's about being intentional. In Part 2 of this parenting series, we explore three common mistakes that many loving parents make and, more importantly, how to replace them with approaches that strengthen your relationship with your child. In this episode we discuss: • Why discipline should focus on teaching rather than simply punishing • The incredible power of apologizing when we've been wrong as parents • Why "time-ins" can often be more effective than traditional time-outs, especially when children are overwhelmed emotionally Healthy parenting isn't about winning battles—it's about building trust, teaching wisdom, and helping our children learn to regulate their emotions while knowing they are deeply loved. I also encourage parents to spend some time reflecting on their own strengths and weaknesses. Every parent has areas where they naturally excel and areas where they struggle. Growth begins with honest self-reflection, and our children benefit when we are willing to learn alongside them.
