  Is your income as a myofunctional therapist feeling inconsistent — and you're not sure if that's a pricing problem, a client problem, or something else entirely? Hi friend, I want to talk about money today, and I mean really talk about it — not the polished version, not the highlight reel, but the real breakdown of how income actually works when you're building a myofunctional therapy business. When I started my practice in 2017, I had no idea what was possible. I didn't come in with a revenue goal. I came in with one thought: I have to get out of this hygiene chair. My first year, I made around $28,000 to $30,000. My second year, I crossed six figures. By 2023, I had my peak year at $313,705, solo, no team. And in the year after that, I dropped by more than $200,000 — and that was entirely on me. I got comfortable, I stopped growing, and the business reflected that. I tell you all of that not to impress you, but to show you what's possible when you build with intention, and what happens when you don't. The income in this field is not fixed. It is not decided for you. There is no mayor of Myo Town setting the going rate, and anyone who tries to tell you what you can and can't charge is handing you their own money mindset drama. Don't take it. What actually determines your income is your pricing, your offer structure, and the way you think like a CEO. I would rather work with one $5,000 client than five $1,000 clients — same revenue, less time, more bandwidth to show up with excellence. A full calendar isn't the goal. A calendar that pays you well and still gives you your life back — that is the goal. If you're booked solid and still feeling broke, your prices are too low.   What does it actually cost you to build your myofunctional therapy business inside someone else's dental practice? Hi friend, My guest today is Michelle, a trained myofunctional therapist who is about as Lola as it gets. She invested in herself, she did the work, and she built the life first business I talk about all the time. But before she got there, she had to learn a hard lesson the hard way. Michelle came to me already trained, but stuck in the gap between knowing and going. She knew exactly where she wanted to end up. She just did not know how to get there yet. So she invested in herself, built her own private practice, and started moving. Then something interesting happened. The dental practice where she had worked for years, the one that had never shown much interest in bringing myofunctional therapy in house, suddenly wanted in. A consultant pointed out how valuable she was, and almost overnight Michelle went from waiting for permission to being the specialist everybody wanted a piece of. So she said yes to both.
