We can’t wait to grow in faith with you! Preparing Your Marriage for the Turn | Pastor Michael Petillo What happens when everything around us starts changing? Pastor Michael Petillo takes us back to God’s Word to talk about one of the most important places we can prepare for the changes ahead: our marriages. Using the picture of the wilderness tabernacle and the extra boards God commanded Moses to use at the corners, Pastor Michael reminds us that turning points are vulnerable places that need reinforcement. In the same way, our marriages need to be strengthened before the pressure comes. Through Ephesians 5, we’re reminded that a healthy, God-honoring marriage doesn’t begin with getting our spouse to change—it begins with allowing the Holy Spirit to deal with our own self-centeredness. Real love, humility, and submission aren’t natural to us. They require the work of the Holy Spirit in our hearts. Pastor Michael challenges married couples, future couples, and really all of us to stop making our spouse’s flaws the main issue and start taking responsibility for our own. When we learn to put the good of the other person ahead of ourselves, we create the kind of marriage that can stand strong even when everything around us is changing. Marriage has the power to set the course of our lives and our calling. If we’re heading into a turn, now is the time to reinforce it.
