Episode #12
Coaching For Life (AKA The Smell of Potential!)
We look back at 50 episodes of Show-Me Sports Legacies with a focus on coaches and the lifelong impact of coaching . Clips from Wes Croy, Darren Schmadeke, Adrian Cox, Tim and Kameron Cool, Gary Garner and Jacky Payne fill this episode with real life impactful (and funny) stories of coaches, teams and players striving to have success. Daniel Gott, Trenton R9 Superintendent (a panelist from our very first episode!) and Brian Upton, Coach of Trenton and Southwest Livingston County R-1 Girls Basketball with a 267-64 career record and two Show-Me Showdown appearances. The themes of loving the game, teaching fundamentals and helping build good players and persons fill these clips and stories. In our original episode we talked about the boundaries of our fandom, our introduction here shatters those boundaries with the smell of potential ! Fun times! BTW we need a volunteer to carry "The Bag!!" Follow us on all Podcast platforms and on Instagram @show_me_sports_legacies for clips and fresh content! Intro/Outro, Touch Down by Matt Welch, Music Courtesy of Melodie Music, www.melod.ie *** Text us your ideas and feedback on topics, guests and anything else for the good of the cause! Show-Me Sports Legacies takes a story approach to learning about high school, junior college, D2 & D1 college sports and our beloved professional franchises in Kansas City and St. Louis. We talk to people who have made their mark as coaches, players, scouts and business people after coming from small towns or little known communities or neighborhoods. We talk to people who are seeking to establish their reputation and break into sports career success. With a fan's perspective we look at how to encourage and support people who have that sporting dream.
