A recovery podcast for you and for us. This introduction is to tell you about who we are and who we are not. We’re you. We’re just people, working people for the most part dealing with our “stuff.” We’re recovering from what we’ve learned are character defects. Defects that shaped who we became. Recovery has lots of labels: substance abuse, alcoholism, anger, anxiety, gambling, pornography, sex (too much or not enough), grief, over-eating, yadayadayada. Some of us are labeled addicts, alcoholics, haters, weepers, etc., because that’s how we’re viewed since that’s what’s visible on the outside. On the inside we’re dealing with things along the lines of the seven deadly sins: envy, gluttony, greed, lust, pride, sloth, and wrath. Some of the sub- labels include insecurities, self-esteem, pain, various hurts and habits, and the list goes on. We address various labels but, in most cases, we believe labels are really just masks, or symptoms, to the real problem – Life’s “stuff.” Learning to

Episode 0083 Sponsorship Part 2
Aug 21, 20261h 37m
This episode continues the sponsorship series with Bob, Jeremy, Ralph, Sherry, and Mandy digging into what makes a good sponsor, how people choose one, and how sponsorship changes as both people grow in recovery. The conversation explores honesty, humility, boundaries, flexibility, service, faith, and the importance of adapting the approach to the individual rather than treating recovery like a one size fits all program. They share candid stories about being fired as sponsors, recognizing when friendship and sponsorship create conflicts, learning when to step back, and putting another person’s sobriety ahead of ego. The group also discusses how lessons learned through sponsorship carry into parenting, friendships, and military and workplace leadership, especially communication, patience, listening, discernment, and learning to respond instead of react. Pat sits down with the Old Rucker, Jeremy, Tony, Ralph and RedBeard to shares his raw and uncensored recovery journey, tracing his path from a rebellious childhood and heavy drinking through the Marine Corps, combat in Iraq, multiple DWIs, career setbacks, broken relationships, isolation, and eventually the realization that his life had become unmanageable. Pat talks openly about using alcohol to stay numb, the consequences that accumulated without immediately stopping his drinking, and the turning point that led him into treatment and the recovery program. He also discusses the people who helped him along the way, the importance of sponsorship, service, faith, accountability, and simply continuing to take the next right step. The conversation ultimately becomes a story of transformation, showing how sobriety, community, and giving back have allowed Pat to rebuild his life, find purpose, and recognize that the future can become better than he ever imagined. In this deeply personal episode the Old Rucker sits down with Trish as she shares her powerful journey through alcoholism, relapse, recovery, and redemption. From a chaotic childhood marked by addiction and trauma to early sobriety, devastating loss, multiple relapses, and nearly losing her life during alcohol withdrawal, Trish openly discusses the realities of addiction without minimizing the pain or the hope. Together, they explore the importance of honesty, sponsorship, faith, service, mental health, therapeutic writing, and the daily commitment required to maintain sobriety. This episode is a reminder that relapse does not erase recovery, that there is always hope for those willing to come back, and that no one has to face the journey alone. The Old Rucker explores the difference between simply following the crowd and developing the warrior spirit needed to face life’s challenges with courage, discipline, faith, and purpose. This episode examines leadership, personal responsibility, recovery, overcoming fear, and the choices that define who we become. Through stories of figures like Norman Vincent Peale, Theodore Roosevelt, Saint Francis of Assisi, Mother Teresa, and a powerful tribute to Stephanie, a friend who embodied unconditional love despite her own struggles, Bob challenges listeners to embrace compassion, confront their weaknesses, serve others, and leave a legacy written on hearts rather than monuments. The message is clear: everyone has a purpose, everyone has the ability to lead, and the choice between fear and courage, apathy and action, is ours to make. In the first installment of a multi-part series on sponsorship, Bob the Old Rucker is joined by returning guests Ralph, Mandy, Sherry, and Jeremy for an honest discussion about what sponsorship truly means beyond the textbook definition. Drawing from decades of collective recovery experience, the panel explores the role of sponsors as mentors, guides, and fellow travelers rather than authority figures, emphasizing trust, humility, accountability, healthy boundaries, and walking through life’s challenges together. The conversation includes personal stories of success and failure, difficult lessons learned from sponsoring others, the importance of meeting people where they are, recognizing when outside professional help is needed, and understanding that recovery is never one size fits all. Whether you’re in Alcoholics Anonymous, another 12-step fellowship, or simply interested in the power of mentorship, this episode offers practical wisdom and heartfelt encouragement on helping others while continuing your own journey of growth and recovery. If you have a concern about deliverability, AI quality, data privacy, or whether this will actually work for your specific situation, it's probably answered below.
What is the difference between Founder Solo and Founder Pro?
Founder Solo gives you 50 AI pitches per month using the credit model (Standard pitches cost 1 credit, Enriched pitches cost 2). Founder Pro raises that to 200 credits per month and adds full Booking Probability access, unlimited Magic Match, Apollo enrichment credits, and data export capabilities. Both plans use the same credit system, so you can stretch your monthly budget further by using Standard-mode drafting.
How do agency tiers work?
Agency tiers have no base fee. You pay per managed client and per talent profile. Agency Standard is $199 per client per month; Agency Pro is $399 per client per month. Both add $39 per talent profile per month. Your own team's user seats are always free.
What is a talent profile?
A talent profile represents one person (founder, executive, or spokesperson) you are booking onto podcasts. It includes their bio, topics, headshots, and outreach history. Team plans include 5 profiles; agency plans are pay-as-you-go.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes, at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades apply at the end of the current billing period. Contact support if you need help migrating between plan families.
Do you offer a free trial?
Every paid plan includes a 15-day free trial. Your card is saved at signup but you will not be charged until day 16. Cancel any time from your dashboard.
