Episode #7
Recharge | The Global Church: To the Ends of the Earth
Pastor Chad opens a new chapter in our Global Church series by jumping into the book of Acts, starting with Jesus' final words before His ascension: "You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth" (Acts 1:8). That single verse becomes the outline for the whole book — and this episode walks through its earliest, most explosive chapter. On the day of Pentecost, Jews "from every nation under heaven" gathered in Jerusalem heard the gospel preached in their own languages, an early glimpse of the Great Commission in motion. Peter's sermon cuts straight to the heart of the crowd who had crucified Jesus, and 3,000 are added to the church in a single day — forcing the earliest believers to innovate almost overnight just to care for one another. The episode closes with the story of Stephen, the church's first martyr, and the persecution that scattered believers as far as Antioch — proof that what was meant for harm, God used for good. Along the way, Pastor Chad shares a firsthand report from a missions conference in Dallas, where churches and organizations are working toward a bold goal: a church for every 1,000 people on the planet.
