74. 15-Year Breast Cancer Survivor & 2x Boston Marathon Finisher Stasi Trout
What does strength look like after breast cancer—and how do you learn to believe in your body again after everything it has been through? In this episode, Kelsey sits down with 15-year breast cancer survivor, two-time Boston Marathon finisher, fitness professional, and Susan G. Komen Columbus Leadership Board member Stasi Trout. Stasi shares her breast cancer journey, how the experience shaped the woman she is today, and the role fitness and movement played in rebuilding both her physical strength and her confidence. Together, they talk about an often-overlooked part of the breast cancer journey: what happens after treatment ends. Stasi shares what she wishes more people understood about survivorship, why continuing to serve women impacted by breast cancer has become such an important part of her life, and how her definition of strength has evolved through everything she has faced. In this conversation, you’ll hear about: • Stasi’s journey through breast cancer and 15 years of survivorship • How fitness helped her rebuild strength and confidence • What people often misunderstand about life after treatment • Why community and support matter throughout the breast cancer journey • How running the Boston Marathon became part of Stasi’s story • What she would tell a woman currently facing breast cancer • Learning to believe in your strength again after your body has been through something difficult • How Stasi’s definition of strength has changed through adversity This episode is for the woman walking through breast cancer, the survivor learning to trust her strength again, and anyone who needs the reminder that strength can look very different than it once did. Sometimes strength is fighting. Sometimes it is rebuilding. And sometimes it is choosing to step forward and discover just how strong you still are.
