Welcome to Same-Sex Attracted and a Christian. Now what? My name is Dennis Belkofer. The title is my autobiography in a nutshell, because I know what it's like to be same-sex attracted and a Christian, and ask, "How do I align it with God's moral laws and creation ordinances of gender, sexuality, and marriage?" And it's the same "now what" asked by countless Christians, not only those who are same-sex attracted. I've recorded this podcast to share my conversion and how I was taught to biblically deal with the sinful desires that attracted me to a man, after years of confusion and struggling to find the answer. What I was taught applies to all Christians, because "all" Christians are baited by sinful desires (Galatians 5:17). I pray that this podcast will be a blessing to others, and above all, glorify the Lord Jesus Christ. From my heart to yours, Dennis.

Same-Sex Attracted and a Christian. Now What?
On May 25th, I recorded "Taking a Beloved Scripture out of Context: John 3:16" (check it out). That's what I had done with Romans 8:28: "God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." I stopped there, as I had done with John 3:16. I should have interpreted 8:28 in light of Romans 8:1 and 8:29-39. Synthesizing these verses as a whole, and all of Romans Chapter 8, taught me how to let go of my regret. If you are haunted by regret, please drench yourself in all of Romans 8. God takes our regret and works it for good: the freedom Jesus' blood paid for and for His glory. Don't shortchange yourself of what Jesus has done for you, as I used to do. Does it hurt Him? It must. Because He loves us. Please check out "What Gave me the Audacity to Record this Podcast?" - especially if God is calling you to minister to His church, or you are there already. It's the forerunner to this episode. I believe living our lives in Romans 8 is the authenticity people sense coming from the pulpit, pastoral care, what they read in Christian books and blogs, and what they hear on Christian podcasts. If the church ever needed authentic biblical ministry from those who live it in their personal lives, now is the day. Email: dennymrb@outlook.com

On June 16, I recorded: "If Your Relationship with Your Parents Needs Healing, how God Healed my Relationship with my Father may Encourage You." This episode may be more encouraging: a call to send a love letter to someone that could change your life and the person who receives it- like the love letter I talk about in this episode. Luke 17: 8 reads: "We are unworthy slaves; we have done only that which we ought to have done." Ouch! I invite you to listen to this episode and to join me in my "ouch." From my ouch to possibly yours as well, Dennis Email: dennymrb@outlook.com

During my time alone with God this morning, I decided to go to YouTube to see if a Christian teaching video would be offered. True to YouTube's algorithm, which selects videos based on the types of videos you choose in the past, "The 7 Levels of Intimacy with God (why few Christians Ever Reach the Final One)" was available. Amazingly, I found it to be a timeline beginning with my Christian life in its infancy and ending with where I am today: by God's grace, level 7. I am eager to suggest that after you listen to this episode, you check out the video yourself. It emphasizes spending time alone with God and taking off our masks when we do: to be honest about our sins, worries, fears, and the anger we feel when our needs and prayers aren't answered. David did that in the Psalms, but he always ended with worshipping God and extoling His love and compassion. Following David's example is not an option for us . This episode takes you to Psalm 139 to encourage your honesty with God, because He knows us better than we know ourselves. When you are being honest with God about your sins, I've provided Isaiah 57:15 as another encouragement. And I suggest you check out what I've recorded that complements "The 7 Levels...." June 16: "Are you Jealous About Spending Time with God..." May 23: "Wanting what God Does for You More than Wanting Him..." April 2: "The Joy of Being a Closet Christian." And I highly recommend, almost insist, that you check out YouTube's "The Secret of Men who Walk Alone with God." It unpacks what it is like living in level 7 - and what it takes to get there.
