The Glory in the Dust | Finding Freedom from Worldly Success (Jeremiah 9:23–24)
What happens when the things you rely on for confidence are stripped away? Every room fallsquiet when a trophy is placed on a shelf. It gleams under the light—a neatsummary of a victory won, an obstacle conquered, a life that has “made it.” We build ouridentity around these trophies: degrees, resumes, investment portfolios. Butthere is an ancient whisper that cuts through the noise of modern ambition: “Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neitherlet the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in hisriches...” (Jeremiah 9:23) Why? Because thesethings are fragile. Intellect can be outsmarted. Strength can vanish with asingle diagnosis. Wealth can sprout wings overnight. God isn't calling usinto passivity or neglect; He is inviting us to stop building on sand. Theworld tells you to prove your worth. God invites you to know His worth, andfind your identity resting safely in Him.
