People listen to your podcast every week. They tell you they love it. So why aren’t more of them becoming clients? Rethinking Podcasting is the podcast for service-based experts and founders, who want their podcast to work harder for the business it was created to support. Most podcasts about podcasting focus on how to grow your show: more downloads, more listeners, more marketing. But what if your audience size isn’t the problem? If your podcast isn’t generating enquiries, supporting sales, or helping the right people decide to work with you, more listeners won’t necessarily change the outcome. Hosted by Rosemarie, podcast diagnostician, strategist and founder of Evergreen Podcast Strategy, this show challenges conventional podcast advice and explores how podcasts influence the decisions people make before they ever enquire, apply, or buy. Because the podcasts that drive business results aren’t necessarily the ones with the biggest audiences—they’re the ones designed to help the right people make the right decisions. In each episode, we’ll explore what needs to happen between someone listening to your podcast and deciding they want to work with you, including: · why listeners aren’t taking action after listening · how your podcast shapes buying decisions long before someone reaches out · how to design episodes around the decisions your listeners need to make · how to make your offer a natural part of the conversation your podcast is already having · and how to turn your podcast into a valuable business asset, not just another content task If people are listening to your podcast but it isn’t contributing to your business the way you expected, you’re in the right place. Because for a podcast that’s meant to support your business, success isn’t only measured by how many people listen. It’s measured by what the right listeners understand, believe and decide because they listened. —- If people are listening but not taking the next step, the Decision Gap Diagnostic can help you understand why. Episode #205
One Episode Doesn’t Need to Do Everything | How to Plan Your Podcast Episodes [Ep 205]
Aug 11, 20267 min
What if you've been asking one episode to do a job that takes ten? Most podcast episodes try to teach, nurture, build trust, overcome objections and sell — all at once. This episode is about what happens when you give an episode one job instead. How that changes what you include, what you cut, and why your listener actually moves. In this episode, I talk about: Why a good episode and an effective one aren't the same thing — and which one you've probably been making What you're actually doing when you add one more example, one more story, one more point just to be safe The question that needs to come before your title, your key points, and your CTA — and why most people never ask it Not sure what decisions your podcast is actually helping listeners make? The Decision Gap Diagnostic shows you where listeners are getting stuck between consuming your expertise and becoming ready to work with you — and what I’d change to help close the gap. Explore the Decision Gap Diagnostic - Thank you for listening to this episode of Rethinking Podcasting. If this episode made you think differently about your podcast, your content or the role your podcast plays in your business, I'd love to hear what shifted for you. The Podcast Planning Shift That Creates Endless Episode Ideas[Ep 204]
Jul 14, 202610 min
You don't usually run out of podcast ideas. You run out of places to start. Most of us plan episodes by asking, "What should I talk about this week?" But what if that's the wrong question? Because your ideal client isn't searching for a podcast because they want another episode about pricing, visibility or marketing. They're searching because something has happened in their world, and they're trying to make sense of it. In this episode, I'm sharing the shift that's completely changed how I plan my podcast—and why starting with your listener's moment , rather than your content topic , can make your episodes feel more relevant, more engaging, and far easier to plan. In this episode, I talk about: Why planning around topics often leads to repetitive content. The difference between a topic and the moment that makes someone search for it. A simple shift that will help you create episodes your ideal clients are ready to hear. A practical exercise to uncover the conversations your podcast should be having next. If you've ever found yourself staring at a blank Google Doc, scrolling through old posts or asking ChatGPT what to record next, this episode will help you think about podcast planning in a completely different way. — Not sure what moments your podcast should be speaking to? The Decision Gap Diagnostic will help you uncover them. The Enquiry Isn't the First Decision (How Podcast Listeners Actually Become Clients) [Ep 203]
Jul 6, 202615 min
When does someone actually decide to work with you? Most coaches and experts assume it's when they enquire. I don't. I think the enquiry is simply the first part of the process we get to see. Long before someone reaches out, they've been making a series of smaller, invisible decisions - about the problem they're facing, the approach they trust, and whether you're the right person to help. In this episode, I talk about: Why the enquiry isn't the moment someone decides to work with you The invisible "micro-decisions" your listeners are making before they ever get in touch Why creating content for people who are already ready can leave your podcast feeling hit and miss How thinking about your listener's decision pathway changes the role your podcast plays in your business A simple reflection to help you create episodes that support the decisions that come before the enquiry If you've ever wondered why people love your podcast but it isn't consistently leading to enquiries, clients and sales, this episode will give you a different way of looking at what's really happening behind the scenes. Ready to understand what’s happening between someone listening to your podcast and becoming a client? The Decision Gap Diagnostic helps you uncover where your podcast is influencing decisions, where listeners might be getting stuck, and what needs to change to create a clearer pathway from listening to taking action. How Your Podcast Actually Helps People Make Decisions [Ep 202]
Jun 15, 202614 min
Ever wondered why your podcast gets lovely feedback but doesn’t seem to be leading to more conversations or more of the right people reaching out? In this episode, I’m exploring what I believe is one of the biggest misunderstandings in podcasting: that your podcast’s job is to generate enquiries. I don’t think it is. Instead, I think its real role is something much quieter—and much more powerful. You’ll hear: Why people don’t make decisions because they’ve consumed enough information, but because they’ve gradually become more certain. The hidden role your podcast can play in reducing uncertainty for the right listeners. Why “providing value” and helping someone become ready to take the next step aren’t always the same thing. One simple question to ask yourself before planning your next episode that could completely change the way you create content. If this episode left you thinking, “I genuinely don’t know what uncertainty my listeners still have…” that’s exactly the question the Decision Gap Diagnostic is designed to help you answer. Together, we’ll look at the role your podcast is playing, where people might still be feeling uncertain, and what could help them leave with greater clarity and confidence. Your Podcast Has a Role. Do You Know What It Is? | Podcast Strategy Tips [Ep 201]
Jun 1, 202613 minS0

Most coaches and experts never intentionally decide what role their podcast is supposed to play inside their business. They start podcasting to connect deeper with their audience, build authority in their industry and create long-form content that lasts longer than their Instagram stories.

And those are all great reasons to start a podcast. But a reason for starting a podcast isn't the same as assigning it a role.

In this episode, I'm exploring one of the most overlooked questions in podcast strategy:

What job is your podcast actually there to do?

...

If you have a concern about deliverability, AI quality, data privacy, or whether this will actually work for your specific situation, it's probably answered below.
What is the difference between Founder Solo and Founder Pro?
Founder Solo gives you 50 AI pitches per month using the credit model (Standard pitches cost 1 credit, Enriched pitches cost 2). Founder Pro raises that to 200 credits per month and adds full Booking Probability access, unlimited Magic Match, Apollo enrichment credits, and data export capabilities. Both plans use the same credit system, so you can stretch your monthly budget further by using Standard-mode drafting.
How do agency tiers work?
Agency tiers have no base fee. You pay per managed client and per talent profile. Agency Standard is $199 per client per month; Agency Pro is $399 per client per month. Both add $39 per talent profile per month. Your own team's user seats are always free.
What is a talent profile?
A talent profile represents one person (founder, executive, or spokesperson) you are booking onto podcasts. It includes their bio, topics, headshots, and outreach history. Team plans include 5 profiles; agency plans are pay-as-you-go.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes, at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades apply at the end of the current billing period. Contact support if you need help migrating between plan families.
Do you offer a free trial?
Every paid plan includes a 15-day free trial. Your card is saved at signup but you will not be charged until day 16. Cancel any time from your dashboard.
What happens if I cancel?
You keep access until the end of your current billing period. No charges after that. Your data is retained for 30 days in case you reactivate.
Is the 20% annual discount automatic?
Yes. Select Annual on the pricing toggle and the discounted price is applied automatically at checkout. The annual price shown is the full year cost.
What if I have more than 50 profiles or 20 clients?
That is our Enterprise tier. Contact our sales team and we will build a custom plan with volume pricing, a dedicated account manager, and SLA guarantees.
