Episode #45
The First Mile Lies
In this episode of the Resilient Fire Podcast, Dave uses the experience of a triathlon “brick workout” to explore what it feels like to enter a new season of life and faith. Just as the first mile after a hard bike ride can feel awkward, painful, and completely out of rhythm, transitions often make us question whether we're on the right path. Through the physical realities of adaptation, personal experience, and Scripture, Dave examines what happens when we leave behind old habits, identities, coping mechanisms, and sources of strength that no longer belong in the season God is leading us into. Ultimately, the episode points us to Christ as the foundation for every transition, reminding us that we don't have to understand the entire race to take the next faithful step—and that what feels like failure or discomfort may simply be the beginning of adaptation, growth, and deeper dependence on God.
