E145: The Fawn Response Revisited: Why You Over-Apologize and How to Stop
Sep 7, 202637 min
Have you ever caught yourself apologizing for something that genuinely did not need an apology? Sorry for asking a question. Sorry for having a preference. In this episode we’re taking another look at fawning, one of the lesser-known trauma responses, and why it shows up everywhere from work to romantic relationships. We reframe fawning as an intelligent survival adaptation, not weakness, and walk through where it comes from and how it quietly runs in the background of adult relationships. By the end of this episode you’ll have a new reframe, “I can hold space for myself first,” and a concrete practice for pausing before you smooth something over that didn’t need smoothing. If today’s episode resonated, please take a moment to rate and review wherever you listen. All the ways to reach me are in the show notes. I would love to hear from you. E143: Why CPTSD Makes Decision-Making So Hard (And How to Trust Yourself Again)
Aug 31, 202634 min
Do you research every decision into the ground, ask five people for their opinion before trusting your own, or feel real physical anxiety when there’s no clear right answer? In this episode we’re naming a pattern a lot of us with complex trauma histories carry, and it has almost nothing to do with being “an overthinker” by nature. We trace decision paralysis back to its actual root, childhood conditioning that taught the nervous system mistakes were dangerous, not just inconvenient. This episode includes personal reflection on dropping two of my three kids off at college for the first time, and the flood of second-guessing that showed up in me that had nothing to do with them directly. By the end of this episode you’ll have a new reframe, “I trust myself to learn as I go,” and a concrete tool, the 70% rule, for acting without waiting for certainty that was never coming. If today’s episode resonated, please take a moment to rate and review wherever you listen. It genuinely helps more people find this content. All the ways to reach me are in the show notes. E142: : People-Pleasing, Boundaries & Trauma Bonds: Ask Me Anything Part 2 (CPTSD & Attachment Q&A)
Aug 24, 202633 min
Do you find yourself over-explaining every boundary you set, or wondering what's safe to share with your own kids after growing up with a parent who shared too much with you? This episode is for you. This is part two of our Ask Me Anything series on CPTSD, built around real listener questions. We talk about setting healthy boundaries with your children after an enmeshed childhood of your own, why people-pleasing is a trauma response rather than a personality trait, and how to work on becoming less dependent on deep connection without falling into dissociation. In this episode we cover: • What to share and not share with your kids after growing up parentified • A simple filter for deciding what's appropriate to disclose to children at different ages • Why over-explaining boundaries keeps you stuck, and how to stop • Understanding connection dependency as a nervous system survival strategy • Building a regulation toolkit beyond any one relationship • Working with dissociation with curiosity instead of judgment • Saying no at work without the guilt spiral • Why people-pleasing and resentment often show up together • People-pleasing as trauma response, not personality A reminder that there is no Midweek Reframe for these two weeks while I move my twin sons into college and settle back into life in California. We'll return to our regular Monday and Wednesday rhythm soon after. If this series resonated with you, please subscribe, leave a review, and share it with someone who needs it. E141: CPTSD, Attachment & Dating: Ask Me Anything Part 1 (Trauma-Informed Q&A)
Aug 17, 202633 min
Do you find yourself more anxious the closer you get to someone, instead of less? Or freezing mid-conversation and not knowing why? You're not broken, and this episode is for you. This is part one of a special two-part Ask Me Anything series, built around real listener questions on CPTSD, dating, and attachment. We talk about whether and when to disclose CPTSD to someone you're dating, how to work with the freeze response after hard conversations, the difference between "safe" and "just not scary," and why closeness can trigger more anxiety instead of less when you're healing from complex trauma. In this episode we cover: • Dating and disclosure with CPTSD • The freeze response and how to work with it in real time • Telling the difference between genuine safety and relief from chaos • Why intimacy can increase anxiety for trauma survivors • Anxious, avoidant, and disorganized attachment without the shame • What it means when a partner calls your need for reassurance "too much" • Why we test people to see if they'll leave, and what to do instead • A simple practice to use after any activating interaction A reminder that there will be no Midweek Reframe for the next two weeks while I move my twin sons into college and settle back into life in California. Part two of this AMA series drops next week, covering people-pleasing, boundaries with your own children, and working through dependency on deep connection. Every question we get asked before someone starts their trial.
If you have a concern about deliverability, AI quality, data privacy, or whether this will actually work for your specific situation, it's probably answered below.
What is the difference between Founder Solo and Founder Pro?
Founder Solo gives you 50 AI pitches per month using the credit model (Standard pitches cost 1 credit, Enriched pitches cost 2). Founder Pro raises that to 200 credits per month and adds full Booking Probability access, unlimited Magic Match, Apollo enrichment credits, and data export capabilities. Both plans use the same credit system, so you can stretch your monthly budget further by using Standard-mode drafting.
How do agency tiers work?
Agency tiers have no base fee. You pay per managed client and per talent profile. Agency Standard is $199 per client per month; Agency Pro is $399 per client per month. Both add $39 per talent profile per month. Your own team's user seats are always free.
What is a talent profile?
A talent profile represents one person (founder, executive, or spokesperson) you are booking onto podcasts. It includes their bio, topics, headshots, and outreach history. Team plans include 5 profiles; agency plans are pay-as-you-go.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes, at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades apply at the end of the current billing period. Contact support if you need help migrating between plan families.
Do you offer a free trial?
Every paid plan includes a 15-day free trial. Your card is saved at signup but you will not be charged until day 16. Cancel any time from your dashboard.
What happens if I cancel?
You keep access until the end of your current billing period. No charges after that. Your data is retained for 30 days in case you reactivate.
Is the 20% annual discount automatic?
Yes. Select Annual on the pricing toggle and the discounted price is applied automatically at checkout. The annual price shown is the full year cost.
What if I have more than 50 profiles or 20 clients?
That is our Enterprise tier. Contact our sales team and we will build a custom plan with volume pricing, a dedicated account manager, and SLA guarantees.
