Raising The Bar: Stories From The Equestrian World
Who Am I, If Not That?
Today’s episode is a little different. It’s a companion to the latest Mindfulness & Horsemanship blog, where we’re exploring a question I think many of us ask at different stages of our lives: Who am I in the horse world now? Joining me is Stephanie, a lifelong horsewoman whose journey has evolved from being a champion hunter rider to embracing a very different season of life—one centered on family, an older beloved mare, and rediscovering what it means to simply love horses. Together, we talk about identity, how our definition of success changes over time, and why the life we’re living may be far more meaningful than the one we once imagined. As a bonus feature, I’ll also be reading “A Letter to My Younger Self,” a personal reflection on growing older, redefining success, and learning to be proud of a life built around family, horses, and the people who matter most. I hope this conversation encourages you to look at your own journey with a little more kindness and reminds you that there are many beautiful ways to belong in the horse world.
