051: Building Together with Jolene White
What happens when your business partner is also your spouse? In this episode Tracie Munce, Amy Sousa, and Lisa Carmichael sit down with Jolene to talk about working alongside her husband, raising a family, and building a business together. Jolene shares why respecting each other’s strengths matters, how having interests outside of work helps their relationship, and what it’s like to see the next generation begin finding their own place in the family business. It’s a conversation about partnership, contribution, and learning how to grow together without having to do everything the same way. KEY TAKEAWAYS Working with a spouse can thrive when each person’s strengths and work styles are respected. Time apart and outside interests help keep work and home life balanced. A family business can give the next generation a meaningful place to learn and contribute. Children can bring fresh skills and ideas to a business, including with social media. Don’t let other people’s experiences hold you back from trying something that may work for you. FAVORITE QUOTES: “I didn’t want to just be at home. I wanted to be contributing.” “By working as a team, there are good consequences to that.” “This is the go time.” “You’re always learning, right?” MORE ABOUT JOLENE WHITE: Jolene White is a wife, mom, and Office Manager at Business and Family Advisors, where she works alongside her husband in their growing family business.
