  Here is my SURPRISE set at LIB 2025! Yes its almost identical to the podcast I released earlier that month! But a but more gangster, and real heavy on the effects. I got to open up the stage on Wednesday early afternoon, on our MASSIVE Funktion One system featuring the TOWER OF POWER bass stack. Lots of tracks in here were used in samples for breakbeat tracks later on in the 1990s. What a rush!   This set is luckily a live mix from a great late night party in Joshua Tree! Tons of tracks from the last few events I went to and some from last summer, with a couple oldies to tie it up at the end. A few of these songs absolutely CRUSHED the dancefloors.   DJ Dan has been the most influential DJ for me since I started playing house music. His funky style has always brought out the kid in me. When I was growing up for some reason, I was so drawn to disco... It's so sad we had to say goodbye to him in March, still can't believe he is gone. Long before I had ever gone to Burning Man, I knew DJ Dan was a DJ who played there often. I came across a mix he put up in 2008 - a live set from the White Party at Opulent Temple. I had no CLUE what that meant to be honest. But the music he played, was exactly what I dreamed of hearing. And so I decided when I heard this mix, that I had to go to this party, at this place, in the middle of the desert, and see DJ Dan play there with my own eyes. So began what I now call my life. I went to Burning Man. I got to meet DJ Dan there too, and we became goofy friends. I have so much respet for this guy. Always happy to see me whenever I popped up at his shows, happy to share some words and goof around. We had some great adventures at Burning Man too. Things I will never forget. Becoming friends with him made me feel so welcomed in to the Burning Man culture. I felt like I was cool enough to be a part of it. Immensely thankful for DJ Dan, no amount of paragraphs can express. That all being said - I chose to put up this mix because it seemingly also can not be found anywhere on the internet. I want people to hear the set that so inspired me. I hope it gets a lot of downloads and spreads out to the internet once again. DJ Dan - we all miss you so much!!!
