Performance marketing lives and dies by the numbers: cost per acquisition, return on ad spend, lifetime value, and the incremental lift that separates a winning campaign from a money-losing one. Lucas and Luna sit at a three-monitor ops desk every episode to dissect the paid-ads tactics and direct-response strategies that actually move revenue — not the hype. They walk through real campaigns from brands like Warby Parker, Allbirds, and HelloFresh, pulling apart audience targeting, creative testing, bid management, and attribution models. Lucas brings a journalist's instinct for questioning the assumptions baked into a dashboard — is that ROAS real or cannibalized? — while Luna pushes for the operational trade-offs: how much scale do you sacrifice for efficiency? The show is built for marketing managers, agency strategists, and founders who manage their own ad spend — people who need to defend budgets, optimize funnels, and explain performance to stakeholders without buzzwords. Why First-Party Data Is Your Only Real Ad Asset
Sep 15, 20269 minS4
In this episode of Performance Marketing with Fexingo, Lucas and Luna dissect why third-party cookie deprecation has forced a fundamental shift in paid media strategy. Rather than chasing lower costs per click, successful brands are now investing heavily in first-party data collection through value-exchange mechanisms like loyalty programs and gated content. We explore the specific mechanics of how companies like Sephora and Starbucks have built proprietary audiences that bypass auction volatility. The conversation covers the technical implementation of customer data platforms, the legal nuances of consent management, and the financial modeling required to justify the upfront cost of building these data assets. If you are still relying solely on platform-native targeting, this breakdown reveals why your return on ad spend is likely eroding faster than you realize. #FirstPartyData #PerformanceMarketing #DigitalAdvertising #CustomerDataPlatform #PrivacyCompliance #AdTechStrategy #LoyaltyPrograms #DataCollection #MediaBuying #ROIAnalysis #ConsumerBehavior #BrandStrategy #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #MarketingTrends #DirectResponse #AudienceBuilding #ECommerceGrowth Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
How Dynamic Creative Optimization Is Hiding Your Ad Waste
Sep 14, 202612 minS4
Dynamic creative optimization sounds like a magic bullet for ad efficiency, but it often masks the true cost of customer acquisition by mixing high-performing assets with underperformers. Lucas and Luna break down how DCO algorithms blend headlines, images, and calls to action in real-time, creating a black box where you lose visibility into which specific element drives results. They explore a case study where a major e-commerce brand thought their ROAS was improving, only to discover that algorithmic bundling was diluting their best creatives with weak variations. This episode offers a concrete framework for auditing DDC campaigns using split-testing logic and isolated variable analysis, helping marketers reclaim control over their ad spend and understand what actually converts. #PerformanceMarketing #DynamicCreativeOptimization #AdSpend #ROAS #EcommerceMarketing #DigitalAdvertising #ConversionRateOptimization #MediaBuying #FacebookAds #GoogleAds #MarketingAnalytics #AABTesting #CustomerAcquisition #AdCreative #AlgorithmicBidding #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #MarketingStrategy Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
Why Incremental Lift Tests Reveal True Ad Profitability
Sep 13, 202615 minS4
We dissect why last-click attribution and raw ROAS metrics systematically overstate marketing effectiveness by ignoring organic fallback behavior. Using a concrete case of a DTC skincare brand that saw its true incremental return drop from four to one point two after running controlled geo-lift experiments, we show how dark funnel traffic inflates budgets. Lucas walks through the mechanics of holdout groups while Luna explores the operational friction of implementing these tests at scale. We answer the listener’s core question: how do you distinguish between ads that create new demand versus ads that merely capture existing intent? The episode provides a framework for calculating true customer acquisition cost by subtracting the value of non-incremental conversions, offering a clearer path to sustainable growth in a post-cookie landscape. #IncrementalLift #PerformanceMarketing #ROASAnalysis #AdAttribution #DarkFunnelTraffic #HoldoutGroups #CustomerAcquisitionCost #DTCBrands #MarketingROI #OrganicFallback #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #DigitalAdvertising #DataDrivenDecisions #GrowthStrategy #AdSpendEfficiency #MarketingMetrics #LucasAndLuna Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
The Hidden Cost of Creative Fatigue in Performance Marketing
Sep 12, 202611 minS4
Creative fatigue is the silent killer of ROAS that most performance marketers ignore until their CPA spikes overnight. In this episode, Lucas and Luna break down why ad creative decays faster than audiences admit, using a specific case study from a mid-market DTC brand that saw a 40 percent drop in conversion rates over just six weeks without changing their targeting or bids. We explore the psychology of banner blindness, the math behind frequency capping, and how to build a testing cadence that keeps your ads fresh before they go stale. This isn't about making more content; it's about understanding the lifecycle of a single asset and knowing exactly when to pull the plug. #CreativeFatigue #PerformanceMarketing #ROAS #DigitalAdvertising #AdSpend #ConversionRateOptimization #BannerBlindness #AudienceFrequency #DTCBranding #MarketingAnalytics #AdTesting #CustomerAcquisitionCost #ContentLifecycle #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #MarketingStrategy #DataDrivenDecisions #MediaBuyer Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
Most performance marketers still optimize for the first sale, but in September 2026 that metric is actively destroying profitable growth. Lucas and Luna break down why shifting your budget toward customer lifetime value and retention signals actually lowers your blended acquisition cost. We look at how a specific mid-market DTC brand reversed a forty percent churn rate by changing their ad targeting from purchase intent to post-purchase engagement, revealing the hidden profit center most dashboards ignore. #CustomerLifetimeValue #AdSpendOptimization #RetentionMarketing #DTCBrands #PerformanceMarketing #AcquisitionCost #ChurnReduction #DataDrivenDecisions #DigitalAdvertising #BusinessGrowth #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #MarketingStrategy #ROIAnalysis #ConsumerBehavior #EcommerceTips #LucasAndLuna #FinancialInsights Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
