While imprisoned, Hannes asks a guard named Sipo Ndlovu for permission to pray at the island's old lime quarry. While praying alone at the quarry, he experiences a profound divine vision that directly mirrors the biblical Book of Revelation. Hannes hears a voice like a trumpet declare, "I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last," and witnesses a divine figure holding seven stars amidst seven golden lampstands.
