The EPA projects that ending these limits would save more than $310 billion. EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin says that the changes would allow the U.S. to build power-generating infrastructure to meet the rapidly rising demands. Zeldin dismissed critics of the decision saying the EPA is following what he calls best reading of the Clean Air Act. The rollback is expected to face immediate legal challenges. The Supreme Court dealt a blow to the Trump administration in its efforts to ensure the integrity of U.S. elections. The high court ruling on Monday that the government is unlikely to succeed on the merits of its challenge. Justice Brett Kavanaugh filed a concurring opinion. He says there is “at least a fair prospect” that the postal rule is legal, but it is too late to use for the November midterm elections. Justice Samuel Alito filed a dissenting opinion, joined by Justice Clarence Thomas. The 51st Toronto International Film Festival opened Thursday with the world premiere of Being Heumann, an inspiring true story from Oscar-winning CODA filmmaker Siân Heder. Hollywood stars packed the red carpet as fans lined up for hours outside the Roy Thomson Hall. The Toronto Film Festival is set to run through September 20, screening nearly 300 films.

  The U.S. House of Representatives and Senate will convene in Washington on Monday for a brief session as a frenetic midterm season approaches, with leaders facing a growing chorus of calls to act on artificial intelligence regulation following a viral whistleblower claim that the technology could soon be capable of self-improvement and take control out of humanity’s hands. President Donald Trump’s plan to send $5,000 dividend checks to American adults if Republicans maintain control of Congress would require a congressional act, said House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) on Sept. 13. “I would assume, yes, he'd need Congress to act, and that’s a creative idea,” Johnson said in a CNN “State of the Union” interview on Sept. 13 in response to a question about the payments. Amazon said Sunday that it has suspended its partnership with 21 Air after one of the cargo carrier's planes loaded with Amazon packages careened off a Miami runway last week and killed five people. The Boeing 767 came in fast on Sept. 6 and then barreled roughly 1,300 feet (396 meters) past the end of the runway and smashed into a van carrying workers at a plane cleaning company. All five people who died were in the van. Five others were hurt.

  NYC Marks 25 Years Since 9/11; Trump Honors Victims at Pentagon | NTD Good Morning (Sept. 11)

  President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance will attend ceremonies on Friday to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the terrorist attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people on Sept. 11, 2001. The events will honor the 2,977 people killed after al-Qaeda terrorists hijacked four commercial airliners and flew them into the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon, while one plane crashed in a Pennsylvania field. The president and First Lady Melania Trump are expected to attend the annual ceremony at the National 9/11 Pentagon Memorial in Arlington, Virginia. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and will include a reading of the names of the 184 people killed when American Airlines Flight 77 was hijacked and crashed into the Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001. The ceremony will also feature remarks from the president. While the president is at the Pentagon, Vance will be at the Ground Zero ceremony held at New York City’s 9/11 Memorial Plaza. This year’s ceremony, which will begin at 8:40 a.m., will feature a reading of the names of the 2,983 individuals killed in the 2001 attacks, and the bombing of the World Trade Center on Feb. 26, 1993.

  President Donald ‌Trump told a crowd gathered in Dallas, Texas, Wednesday night that ‌he will issue a $5,000 ⁠dividend to every adult citizen in the United States if Republicans secure a majority in Congress ⁠on Nov. 3. The president cited the United States’ strong economy that is “making so much money” as the reason he was able to make such a promise. Pennsylvania’s Democratic senator made a surprise video appearance in Dallas on Wednesday night in front of a sea of Republicans at the GOP midterm convention. In a short video message, Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) condemned the rise of socialist politicians in the United States and welcomed his Republican counterpart, Sen. Dave McCormick, as the next speaker. As the 9/11 anniversary approaches, NTD Good Morning host Cary Dunst speaks with David Ferrugio, who lost his father in the 9/11 attacks at the age of 12. Since then, Ferrugio has been on a personal journey of understanding grief, identity, and loss that evolved into a podcast called DEAD Talks. Among the newly banned Canadian products are certain alcoholic drinks including beer and various types of wines and spirits, non-alcoholic beer, whey products, and motorcycles. U.S. forces launched new strikes targeting multiple Iranian tankers on Sept. 8, marking the latest kinetic engagement in the multi-month armed standoff. U.S. ⁠Secretary of State Marco Rubio told reporters that the United States would continue to strike Iranian oil tankers in retaliation for any attempted attacks on U.S. warships. NTD Good Morning welcomes Vitalii Khairutdinov, the gold medal winner of NTD’s 8th International Piano Competition to the studio. The 26-year-old Russian émigrés and piano doctoral student at Temple University competed with contestants from across the globe, performing Baroque, Classical, and Romantic period pieces.
