How to Write a Blackest Moment in Fiction & Why Your Character Needs to Fail
Jun 10, 202627 min
Think your character has to be perfect for readers to love them? If you’ve been trying to write clean fiction with strong, likable characters — but your story still feels flat, predictable, or emotionally disconnected — you’re not alone. And honestly, the problem might be that your character’s life is just too easy. In this episode, I’m sharing why your character needs to fail, what a blackest moment actually is, and how disasters and dilemmas create the emotional depth readers connect with most. I’ll walk you through practical ways to raise the stakes in your middle grade or YA novel while still writing clean, faith-aligned fiction full of heart, growth, and emotional tension. We’ll talk about: • What a blackest moment is and why every story needs one • Why flawed characters are more relatable than perfect ones • How disasters and dilemmas create emotional depth • Why hard choices and consequences keep readers invested • How false confidence makes your blackest moment hit harder emotionally You do not have to write perfect characters to write meaningful stories. You can write characters who struggle, fail, grow, and keep going — and honestly, those are often the stories readers remember most. Your stories matter. And it’s not too late to start. 🔗 Resources Mentioned Grab the Middle Grade Magic Workbook: 👉 https://bit.ly/middlegrademagic Sponsored by Sera Craven Mystery #1 — The Case of the Missing Person: 👉 https://www.amazon.com/Case-Missing-Person-Craven-Mystery/dp/1727391764 Grab the FREE Social Media Safety Workbook: 👉 https://kgauthor.myflodesk.com/socialmediasafety Join the Novel Writing for Christians community: 👉 https://bit.ly/novelwritingforchristians Join the email list for encouragement and writing tips: 👉 https://bit.ly/novelnewsletter

May 20, 202630 min
Tired of trying to make time for writing while everyone else’s needs keep coming first? If you’ve been trying to write your book between volunteering, caregiving, housework, errands, and exhaustion… feeling distracted, overwhelmed, or wondering why writing always seems to end up at the bottom of the list — you’re not alone. And trying to figure this out alone can keep you stuck longer than you need to be. In this episode, I’m sharing the mindset shift that completely changed the way I approach writing — especially as a Christian woman who spent years believing writing was selfish or less important than everyone else’s needs. I’ll walk you through the deeper reason many Christian writers struggle with distraction and how learning to treat writing like obedience instead of indulgence helped me finally protect the calling God placed on my life. This episode is especially for Christian authors, writers, and empty nesters who are ready to stop pushing their stories to the back burner and finally move forward with novel writing for Christians. We’ll talk about: • Why distraction may actually be a permission problem • The hidden guilt many Christian women carry around creativity • Why you do not have to earn the right to write • The one mindset shift that helped me start treating writing as a calling instead of a hobby You don’t have to keep treating writing like the leftover scraps of your life. You can start small. You can start where you are. But you don’t have to do this alone. Your story matters. And it’s not too late to start. 🔗 Resources Mentioned Join the Novel Writing for Christians community: 👉 https://bit.ly/novelwritingforchristians Grab the Author Mindset Checklist: 👉 https://bit.ly/authormindsetchecklist Join the email list for encouragement and writing tips: 👉 https://bit.ly/novelnewsletter This week's episode was sponored by Fatal Fixer-Upper, grab your copy - https://a.co/d/03Vv9BMU

Every question we get asked before someone starts their trial.
If you have a concern about deliverability, AI quality, data privacy, or whether this will actually work for your specific situation, it's probably answered below.
What is the difference between Founder Solo and Founder Pro?
Founder Solo gives you 50 AI pitches per month using the credit model (Standard pitches cost 1 credit, Enriched pitches cost 2). Founder Pro raises that to 200 credits per month and adds full Booking Probability access, unlimited Magic Match, Apollo enrichment credits, and data export capabilities. Both plans use the same credit system, so you can stretch your monthly budget further by using Standard-mode drafting.
How do agency tiers work?
Agency tiers have no base fee. You pay per managed client and per talent profile. Agency Standard is $199 per client per month; Agency Pro is $399 per client per month. Both add $39 per talent profile per month. Your own team's user seats are always free.
What is a talent profile?
A talent profile represents one person (founder, executive, or spokesperson) you are booking onto podcasts. It includes their bio, topics, headshots, and outreach history. Team plans include 5 profiles; agency plans are pay-as-you-go.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes, at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades apply at the end of the current billing period. Contact support if you need help migrating between plan families.
Do you offer a free trial?
Every paid plan includes a 15-day free trial. Your card is saved at signup but you will not be charged until day 16. Cancel any time from your dashboard.
What happens if I cancel?
You keep access until the end of your current billing period. No charges after that. Your data is retained for 30 days in case you reactivate.
Is the 20% annual discount automatic?
Yes. Select Annual on the pricing toggle and the discounted price is applied automatically at checkout. The annual price shown is the full year cost.
What if I have more than 50 profiles or 20 clients?
That is our Enterprise tier. Contact our sales team and we will build a custom plan with volume pricing, a dedicated account manager, and SLA guarantees.
