He moved to Passaic, NJ at twelve years old with his family and became a distinguished student despite language barriers and discrimination. He earned a bachelor's degree in business finance from William Paterson University and has over twenty-two years of experience in the hospitality industry since 2004. In 2010, he opened Tropical Juice Bar alongside his two brothers, with support from their parents whenever they could. Today the company operates 10 locations across New Jersey, with five more in development. Carlos serves as Chief Operating Officer, while his brother Carlos M. Lopez serves as CEO. Carlos also serves his hometown of Passaic, NJ as a trustee of the Passaic Affordable Housing Coalition and has developed a mentorship program to help raise future leaders in his community and company.
