A Posture for Powerful and Purposeful Prayer | John 11:38-44 | Pastor Scott Gibson
Standing at the tomb of Lazarus, Jesus modeled something powerful before performing one of His greatest miracles. He lifted His eyes toward heaven and prayed with complete confidence in the Father. That simple posture reveals everything about how we are meant to approach God in prayer. Lifting our eyes is not just a physical act. It is a declaration of what we believe about who God is and who we are in Him. We lift our eyes to worship God as Father, to seek His righteousness first, to offer praise and thanksgiving, to demonstrate confidence rooted in His Word, and to be a witness to those around us. Prayer is not a transaction. It is intimate access to the Creator of the universe, made possible through Jesus Christ.
