Witness While You Wait
What do we do when life puts us in a waiting room? Acts 1:6-11 opens with a scene that feels surprisingly familiar -- disciples standing still, eyes fixed on the sky, caught between what was and what is yet to come. The passage draws us into one of the most honest realities of the Christian life: we are a people who wait. We wait on the Father's promises, we wait for answers to questions that belong to God alone, and we wait for the return of Christ himself. But here is where the passage takes a turn that challenges us deeply. The Christian life is not a passive life. What we discover in this text is that waiting and witnessing are not opposites -- they are meant to happen at the same time, in the same breath, in the same ordinary moments of our days. Wherever we are placed, whatever room we are waiting in, we have been given a commission and a calling.
