Paralyzed at 18, He Said "I'm Excited to See Where God Takes Me" | Ministry Minute Episode 55
Zachary Abblitt was eighteen years old, and his life was wide open. He was a runner, a surfer, a swimmer, a musician. Then one dive into shallow water changed everything. He hit his head. In an instant, he was paralyzed. His C5 and C6 vertebrae were fractured. He had no feeling below his neck. By every human measure, this was the kind of moment that should have crushed his hope. But one week later, from a hospital bed, Zachary said something no one expected: “I’m really excited to see where the Lord is going to take me.” Zachary later said his paralysis did not feel like a trial — because to him, a trial was a circumstance with no hope. And with Jesus, he still had hope. He said he would rather walk through the fire with God than walk through the world without Him. Pastor, that is the difference between optimism and hope. Optimism depends on circumstances changing. Hope depends on the presence of God. Your people do not need a faith that only works when life makes sense.
