Ever feel embarrassed about trying something new? Worried people will judge you if you start a business, post on social media, go to the gym, change careers, or simply chase a bigger dream? In this episode of Mind Your Own Beeswax, I'm talking about the fear of being seen trying, the hidden mindset block that keeps so many of us playing small. I share my own struggles with creating content on social media, why being a beginner feels so uncomfortable, and the mindset shifts that are helping me stop caring what other people think. You'll learn practical tips to overcome self doubt, build confidence, silence your inner critic, and finally take action even when it feels scary. In this episode we cover: How to stop caring what people think Why the fear of judgment holds us back Overcoming imposter syndrome and self doubt Learning to embrace being a beginner Building confidence through consistent action Why growth always feels uncomfortable How to focus on progress instead of other people's opinions If you've ever delayed your dreams because you were afraid of looking silly, this episode is your reminder that every expert started as a beginner and your future is worth more than someone else's opinion. My 5 steps from this episode I share to overcome the fear of trying and the judgement of others: 1. Name the fear correctly 2. Ask yourself: "Whose opinion am I actually afraid of?" 3. Become comfortable being a beginner 4. Expect to feel embarrassed 5. Collect evidence, not opinions 6. The Next Conversation by Jefferson Fisher Book Summary - How to Communicate Better
Aug 10, 202617 min
If you want to know how to communicate better, how to set boundaries without feeling guilty or how to deal with disrespect, this episode is for you! Today I'm sharing my biggest takeaways from The Next Conversation by Jefferson Fisher. A book that's completely changed the way I communicate at work, with family, and in everyday life. As a trial lawyer, Jefferson teaches practical communication strategies that help you argue less, connect more, and navigate difficult conversations with total confidence. In just 17 minutes I break down the three lessons that had the biggest impact on me from this book. We talk communication skills, difficult conversations, boundaries, assertiveness, confidence, arguments, people pleasing, how to communicate better. Plus: Why the goal of every conversation shouldn't be to win, but to connect. How using "the gift of a pause" can instantly make you a calmer, more confident communicator. A simple three step formula for saying no without guilt (say no, give gratitude then show kindness) I also share real life examples of how I've started applying these techniques and why they've completely changed the way I approach conflict, awkward conversations, and setting boundaries. If you're looking to improve your communication skills, become more confident in difficult conversations, stop people pleasing, or simply build stronger relationships, I think you're going to love this episode. Lion's Gate Portal 2026: How to Manifest for Beginners
Aug 3, 202620 min
The Lion's Gate Portal 2026 is here and if you've been seeing people talk about the 888 portal, manifestation, or Leo season, this episode is your beginners guide to this years Lion's Gate Portal. When is Lion's Gate Portal 2026? 29 July to 12 August 2026. In this episode, I'm breaking down the history behind the Lion's Gate Portal, why August 8 is considered one of the most powerful manifestation days of 2026, and why 2026 is an extra significant 888 year in numerology. Whether you're into spirituality, manifestation, or simply love using seasonal moments to reset your goals, you'll learn how to harness this energy to create meaningful change. I'll walk you through my simple manifestation process: Reflect on where you're dimming your light. Get crystal clear on what you truly want. Embody the version of yourself who already has it. Let go of the "how" and trust the process. I also share the story of how I used these exact principles to manifest my podcast reaching 1,000 downloads, despite being well behind my goal only days earlier. If you're ready to stop playing small, overcome the fear of being judged, and step fully into your next chapter, this episode is your new best friend. Journal prompting questions from this episode: Am I dimming my own light? Where am I choosing comfort over growth? What am I pretending doesn't matter, even though it does? Where am I waiting for permission instead of taking action? What would I do if I wasn't worried about being judged? Lion's Gate is about acknowledging all these things and choosing courage over comfort. Let's make this Lion's Gate Portal your most powerful one yet! Why Failure Might Be the Best Thing That Ever Happens to You
Jul 27, 202620 min
Failure is something we've all experienced... but what if it isn't actually failure at all? In this episode, I'm sharing the story of my biggest failure and why I believe failure is often the universe redirecting us towards something even better plus why I'd always choose trying over spending a life wondering " what if?". I'll also share the incredible story of Oprah being "demoted" early in her career, and how what looked like a career ending setback became the very thing that led to her extraordinary success. If you've recently failed, you're scared to start something new, I hope this episode gives you the courage to back yourself anyway. In this episode, we chat about: Why failure isn't always a sign to stop The mindset shift that completely changed how I view setbacks What closing my clothing business taught me about success Why "what if?" is often scarier than failing The power of influencers versus paid advertising for small businesses Oprah's career "failure" that changed her life forever Tow to forgive yourself, let go of guilt, and keep moving forward Remember: sometimes your biggest setback is simply setting you up for the life you're actually meant to live. If this episode resonated with you, I'd love if you followed the podcast, left a review, or shared it with someone who needs the reminder that failure doesn't define them it can be the beginning of something even better. Ever feel like everyone else is becoming an overnight success while you're still waiting for your breakthrough? In this episode, I'm unpacking why success rarely happens as quickly as social media makes it seem. The truth is, the biggest achievements come from playing the long game not chasing instant results. I share the incredible journeys of MrBeast, Vera Wang and James Dyson, and what they taught me about patience, consistency and trusting the process. In this episode, I cover: Why overnight success is mostly a myth. The power of consistency and playing the long game. What successful people do before anyone notices them. How nature reminds us that good things take time. Why becoming the person who achieves the goal is just as important as reaching it. A mindset shift that will help you stop rushing your journey and start embracing your evolution. Whether you're building a business, growing a podcast, trying to lose weight, changing careers or working towards any big goal, this episode is your reminder to keep showing up. Your hard work isn't going unnoticed you might simply be evolving into the person who's ready for the success that's coming.
