Military Exam Prep is a free, daily podcast by OpenExamPrep covering the most in-demand military aptitude, classification, and advancement exams — including the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery), AFCT, PiCAT, AFOQT (Air Force Officer Qualifying Test), OAR (Officer Aptitude Rating), ASTB-E (Aviation Selection Test Battery), SIFT (Selection Instrument for Flight Training), DLAB and DLPT (Defense Language tests), EDPT, NAPT, DoD Cyber Test, Air Force PFE, Navy NWAE, Coast Guard SWE, and Army Promotion Board. Each 5-minute episode breaks down one exam topic with concrete examples, scoring strategies (especially the AFQT line scores that determine job eligibility), common exam traps, and memory tricks to help you pass on your first attempt. Whether you're preparing for enlistment, OCS, flight school, language school, or your next stripe, the material is built around the way the test actually scores you. This podcast is made by Ran Chen, who holds an EA license, Insurance and Securities licenses (Series 6, 63, 65), and the CFP designation. He is passionate about opening access to high-quality exam preparation for everyone — from recruits at MEPS to NCOs studying for promotion to officer candidates earning their commission. For free practice questions, AI-powered explanations, flashcards, and full study guides, visit https://open-exam-prep.com/ Subscribe and listen daily — your enlistment, commission, or next rank is closer than you think.

Navy OAR Exam Prep 51, Torque Equilibrium and Center of Gravity
Sep 20, 20263 min
This podcast is made by Ran Chen, who holds an EA license, Insurance and Securities licenses (Series 6, 63, 65), and the CFP® designation. He is passionate about opening access to high-quality exam preparation resources and helping learners prepare more effectively for professional certification exams. In this episode you will learn: - Rotational equilibrium is achieved when the sum of clockwise torques equals the sum of counter-clockwise torques. - Torque is calculated by multiplying the force by its perpendicular distance from the pivot point or fulcrum. - A frequent exam trap is forgetting to include the weight of the lever itself, which acts at its center of gravity. - You can simplify complex problems by strategically choosing a pivot point where an unknown force is applied, making its torque zero. - The core principle for all balancing problems can be remembered with the phrase: "For balance to be true, clockwise must equal counter-clockwise through and through." Navy OAR Exam Prep 50, Gears Belts Wheels and Rotational Motion
Sep 19, 20263 min
This podcast is made by Ran Chen, who holds an EA license, Insurance and Securities licenses (Series 6, 63, 65), and the CFP® designation. He is passionate about opening access to high-quality exam preparation resources and helping learners prepare more effectively for professional certification exams. In this episode you will learn: - How to quickly determine the final gear's rotation direction in any gear train. - The function of an idler gear and why it's a common distractor on the OAR exam. - The method for calculating gear ratios and rotational speed using teeth count. - The key difference in rotation between open and crossed belt-and-pulley systems. - How torque is tested using diagrams of simple machines like a wheel and axle. Navy OAR Exam Prep 49, Levers Pulleys and Mechanical Advantage
Sep 18, 20263 min
This podcast is made by Ran Chen, who holds an EA license, Insurance and Securities licenses (Series 6, 63, 65), and the CFP® designation. He is passionate about opening access to high-quality exam preparation resources and helping learners prepare more effectively for professional certification exams. In this episode you will learn: - Master the three classes of levers using the 'FLE 123' mnemonic to quickly identify the fulcrum, load, and effort arrangement. - Understand that the Ideal Mechanical Advantage (IMA) of a pulley system is found by counting only the rope segments directly supporting the load. - Recognize that a single fixed pulley only changes the direction of force, while a movable pulley multiplies force. - Apply the principle of torque (Force x Distance) to solve lever problems, knowing that greater distance from the fulcrum requires less effort. - Remember the force-distance trade-off: a higher mechanical advantage reduces the required force but increases the distance you must pull a rope or move a lever. Navy OAR Exam Prep 48, Speed Velocity Acceleration and Motion Graphs
Sep 17, 20264 min
This podcast is made by Ran Chen, who holds an EA license, Insurance and Securities licenses (Series 6, 63, 65), and the CFP® designation. He is passionate about opening access to high-quality exam preparation resources and helping learners prepare more effectively for professional certification exams. In this episode you will learn: - The critical difference between scalar (distance, speed) and vector (displacement, velocity) quantities and how it's tested. - On a position-time graph, the slope of the line directly represents the object's velocity. - On a velocity-time graph, the slope of the line represents the object's acceleration. - The area under a velocity-time graph is used to calculate the object's total displacement. - How to avoid common exam traps, like confusing a stationary object on a position-time graph with an object at constant velocity on a velocity-time graph. Navy OAR Exam Prep 47, Momentum Impulse and Collisions
Sep 16, 20264 min
This podcast is made by Ran Chen, who holds an EA license, Insurance and Securities licenses (Series 6, 63, 65), and the CFP® designation. He is passionate about opening access to high-quality exam preparation resources and helping learners prepare more effectively for professional certification exams. In this episode you will learn: - Momentum (p=mv) is a vector quantity, meaning its direction is a critical component in exam problems. - Impulse is defined as the change in momentum (Δp) and is calculated as the average force multiplied by the time of application (FΔt). - The Law of Conservation of Momentum states that the total momentum of an isolated system remains constant before and after a collision or explosion. - A key exam strategy is to first identify the 'system' and determine if external forces like friction are negligible before applying momentum conservation. - In recoil problems, the initial momentum is typically zero, meaning the final momentums of the projectile and the recoiling object must be equal in magnitude and opposite in direction. Every question we get asked before someone starts their trial.
If you have a concern about deliverability, AI quality, data privacy, or whether this will actually work for your specific situation, it's probably answered below.
What is the difference between Founder Solo and Founder Pro?
Founder Solo gives you 50 AI pitches per month using the credit model (Standard pitches cost 1 credit, Enriched pitches cost 2). Founder Pro raises that to 200 credits per month and adds full Booking Probability access, unlimited Magic Match, Apollo enrichment credits, and data export capabilities. Both plans use the same credit system, so you can stretch your monthly budget further by using Standard-mode drafting.
How do agency tiers work?
Agency tiers have no base fee. You pay per managed client and per talent profile. Agency Standard is $199 per client per month; Agency Pro is $399 per client per month. Both add $39 per talent profile per month. Your own team's user seats are always free.
What is a talent profile?
A talent profile represents one person (founder, executive, or spokesperson) you are booking onto podcasts. It includes their bio, topics, headshots, and outreach history. Team plans include 5 profiles; agency plans are pay-as-you-go.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes, at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades apply at the end of the current billing period. Contact support if you need help migrating between plan families.
Do you offer a free trial?
Every paid plan includes a 15-day free trial. Your card is saved at signup but you will not be charged until day 16. Cancel any time from your dashboard.
What happens if I cancel?
You keep access until the end of your current billing period. No charges after that. Your data is retained for 30 days in case you reactivate.
Is the 20% annual discount automatic?
Yes. Select Annual on the pricing toggle and the discounted price is applied automatically at checkout. The annual price shown is the full year cost.
What if I have more than 50 profiles or 20 clients?
That is our Enterprise tier. Contact our sales team and we will build a custom plan with volume pricing, a dedicated account manager, and SLA guarantees.
